Kinda sick and tired of people treating racism like it’s no big deal, and specifically especially sick and tired of people blindly crying “transmisogynistic harassment” whenever someone criticizes their favorite white trans woman for her racism.
More people are talking about TADC’s leaks in sympathy for Gooseworx than they are about her being silent on how she participated in racist jokes other than implying it was not “genuine” racism. Nobody seems to bring up Patricia “I am also limited in my ability to racially oppress due to being trans and disabled” Taxxon’s consistent racism, despite her becoming relevant again due to the latest incident with Hbomberguy. A lot of popular transfem bloggers on Tumblr have a history of racism too, but God forbid you bring it up.
I feel fucking crazy. What happened to “you are white before you are anything else”? So many popular trans women on here are specifically white trans women who you’re not allowed to point out have said racist shit that they still stand by, or you’re the bad person. You’re overreacting. You’re harassing a poor innocent white woman over nothing that actually matters, and you need to touch grass and learn what a real problem is. These women are allowed to wield their white woman tears by crying about how oppressed they are and how hard their lives are and how everybody is out to get them when criticized for racism, and people just BUY IT?? Not just buy it, but ENFORCE IT, harass others who DON’T buy it, accuse the ones who don’t buy it of, and I quote, LYNCHING her.
White trans women are not less likely to be racist than any other type of white person, but they’re treated like they are, and the notion they could be racist is treated as inherently ridiculous, defamatory, and transmisogynistic.
I think that some people need to come to grips with the fact that some of these women are blatantly, openly racist, and hide behind their disabilities/mental illnesses and their transness. We cannot be positioning white trans women as an authority on all systems of oppression, because white trans women are not the modern martyr for the oppressed voice. Black trans women have felt everything they have, 100 times worse. White trans women’s suffering is real, but suffering as a white woman is just so much different. And if we want the trans community to be safe for POC, we need to start actually calling racism from trans people out, instead of being the girl who cried transmisogynistic harassment campaign.
But this is the website that says a term coined by a Black trans woman to call out racism from white members of the transfem community is inherently transmisogynistic (even a transmisogynistic slur) and should never be used. So maybe I’m just talking to a (very racist) brick wall here.

Can privileged people please stop taking hatred out of context. For example white people saying that describing someone by their race isn't racist. Fair, but naming someone's race when it has zero significance to the story is weird especially when it is done in circumstances where the race could reinforce the stereotypes. For example when my english teacher was talking about a sketchy moment he expierenced in the us he had to add the fact that the people making the moment sketchy were big black men. That is weird, unnecessary and racist.
Same thing with saying certain races look the same and then backing it up with research. It is not necessarily racist to struggle more with distinguishing Koreans when you are white or maybe the other way around. It is racist to constantly tell asians and black people that they look like other asians and black people, especially considering the fact that most of them never look like the person in question besides their race being the same. This constant comparison of the way people look that white people do is fucking weird. And white people generally don't receive the same treatment unless they truly do look alike as if they're twins. Same thing with being able to tell apart an entire class of white people, but struggling with the two black students. That is showing ignorance.
And these are just two examples of people invalidating expierences by taking things out of context. But this gets done ALL the time. Don't speak about things you know nothing about.
Y'all wanna know a trick? A trick as to how you can better understand the mentality of someone who is antiblack (particularly white, but tbh it works on anyone who really buys into antiblackness), if not make them do an Ace Attorney Blow Up? 👀
I was being facetious with the trick part lol but you know the joke "I might be racist, but you're mean and that's worse?" It's the root of that. We discussed it back when we read White Fragility. You can see it in Trump, Elon Musk, and your average Tumblr racist:
They really, REALLY want to be liked. Not just liked, no that's not the right word, but validated.
Think about it this way. Racism is the status quo; the default, right? Part of maintaining that default is through normalization, and that includes the solidarity necessary to reinforce that (DiAngelo called it white solidarity).
So, if being covertly racist is the status quo, then that means you will be socially rewarded for being so. When you get rewarded, people are nice, friendly, relatable, they keke and haha right alongside you. But when you confront someone's racism, you're not socially rewarding them anymore- the spigot of validation has been paused! Instead of taking it as a valid critique, you are seen as socially punishing a person. You're being MEAN, because the validation I got from everyone else's also-racism was NICE!
That's why when you confront racism, you HAVE to stand firm on it. You cannot feed into the desire for the validation of their behavior. That's what makes a lot of people snap. The blowup is meant to stop you, to force you back into compliance! The only one being punished really is you for bringing it up.
And hell, if not socially validating a bigot is punishment... 😐 Why would that be... A bad thing? We're not hitting you with rocks, we're just saying we don't fuck with you and your behavior. (But that's also a part of really all of the books we've read in #cbc book club so far; that antiracism is seen as violence.)
Personally, I wanna live in the world where it's normal to boo racists, not coddle them. But that starts with being willing to push back against the normal we're in.
not to be a joyless hag but I've started seeing genderbent "yuri" shipping Markiplier and Ryan Gosling and I can't help but think of someone I recently I unfollowed for posting that they have an easier time caring about genderbent versions of boy characters than regular fictional women
and I'm also building some connections to that post I made about reading books by Black women (you know the one) and the people who would respond by saying something akin to "joke's on you, I only read fanfic 😜" as if that were some kind of clever loophole and not a demonstration of the exact thing I was talking about

Gilbert Baker added a 9th stripe shortly before his death, with the new stripe representing diversity. He added this stripe in reaction to the 2016 US election. It’s unfortunately not as well known as the 8 and 6 striped versions.
