The word “too” is an adverb that indicates “also” or “in addition.” It most often shows up in the middle or at the end of a sentence. Most of the time you probably won't use a comma with “too” because your sentences will be chugging along without needing a pause. So you could say, “I too like reading mysteries” or “I like reading mysteries too.” If, on the other hand, you want to emphasize an abrupt change of thought, you do use commas, which, among other things, are used to indicate pauses: “I, too, like reading mysteries” or “I like reading mysteries, too.” In these sentences, you are adding a pause to create emphasis.
There is no right or wrong here. Comma or no comma after “too” is really up to you and the context of the paragraph where the “too” sentence is. If you want to emphasize your thought, you can add the comma to slow the sentence down. If no emphasis is necessary, then no comma is necessary.
So week one of my class was mostly just intro, what to expect, when assignments are due, etc. So I decided to start reading ahead and taking notes for Lesson 1... I am about to start page/section/module?/dot 9 out of 23. And I have taken 17 pages of notes of terms, definitions, and examples. Granted, this isn't a full-sized notebook but a 5.5x8 notebook. I took 8 pages of notes tonight and stopped because my hand cramped up. lol My notes are pretty because I'll use different color highlighters to make terms, and keywords like "always" and "never" stand out. That way it's easy to find the term I want and refresh my memory. I remember this one day, when I was young, I was in my room reading and my mom came home with a book she found at a garage sale. It was a slightly used copy of The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. I fell in love with that book and the movie (which they eventually just bought for me since it was the only one I ever wanted to rent during our weekly trip to the local version of blockbuster was called.) The Last Unicorn will always have a special place in my heart. It is THE BOOK that made me fall in love with reading. Today, I received this signed print from a close friend (I will be getting a frame for it ASAP!) and i just had to share.
