Something that I think we need to call out more in fandoms is the blatant racism towards black female characters, especially when they are love interests. I feel that everytime there is a black female love interest, the fandom completely neglects her and rushes to ship the MC with another character that is most of the time white. And then racist fans try to hide behind “oh well I just don’t ship them!” and it’s pathetic. Adding onto this I think that a lot of ppl in fandoms try to deny/ignore that female black characters can be feminine. People try to default being black as an inherently masculine thing when not only is it not true but it is just downright racist. Let black characters be fun and feminine and let them be loved!!!

feed me weird things is not big or a journey but it is fun and yummy and not too heavy on the ears. you should listen to this album if you like having fun and playing and dont always desire something grander and more ambitious. i would consider it a good introduction to squarepusher as well just in general if youre looking to get more into his stuff
i’ve warmed up significantly towards the concept of small talk ever since i learned that its sole purpose is to make friendly noises.
as long as you smile and nod, people are satisfied. it’s just to show that you are nice and there with good intentions. we’re small in a big world and have to rely on other people to be decent to us. so we do our little human dance to each other to say, “i’m not here to hurt you. here’s something we have in common, like the weather or sports or itchy sweaters, so we both know we’re on the same team. we both agree on a basic fact, like that it is rainy or that being itchy is uncomfortable, and this proves we can get along. i’m being light-hearted and non-threatening right now.”
small talk isn’t to get to know a person. it’s just a greeting to affirm you’re buddies in the universe.
i am motivated by wanting the other person to know i am friendly, so i have gotten pretty decent at small talk when i used to hate it.
When I was a kid and would go hiking with my dad and sibling on vacation, every time we would pass another group, my dad would do the smile and nod and “hey”. And then after we’d turned a corner, he would say more quietly, “I must make friendly social noises so they do not eat my young” and my sib and I would crack up laughing.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm........ feed me weird things..... tends to be minimalistic melodically speaking but that is given with a huge dish of delicious fretless bass and intricate stuttery breakbeats that makes everything work shockingly well and keeps up a lot of musical interest in that way. makes it decidedly non-minimalistic despite the melodies. there is some parts where this is executed pretty clumsily for sure, but the good outweighs the bad in general.
i am not a fan of its album structure and find that generally the way its put together doesnt really lead to any sort of satisfying conclusion and leaves me wanting more of it in a way that just sort of annoys me. not my favorite squarepusher, but absolutely not bad

The charmingly animated witch dance from the 1987 anime film Grimm’s Fairy Tale: The Golden Bird (グリム童話 金の鳥). Directed by the late great Toshio Hirata (平田敏夫). A hidden cartoony gem from Madhouse & Toei Animation, loosely based on the tale of The Golden Bird that was made famous by The Brothers Grimm.
