Hello again anon! It’s completely fine!! It’s been so long since I sent someone an ask on tumblr that I forgot about the character limit :’) Thank you for visiting! Haha I’m glad you’re enjoying it (even though I haven’t posted anything for the last week...) Yes! That’s true! Usually my translations are only for their original songs and on youtube other people also translate them too but it would be helpful if you and the other anon (I’m going to get confused later HAHA) could help me by inserting them and crediting me! ( ; ; ) And yes! On NND, you can comment the translations! It does take time though and once you comment too much, you’ll have to wait a while before you can comment on it again - so with that, it can be a bit hard especially with the timing and everything. After all that, I haven’t really answered the question yet HAHA.... Like I said, it would be helpful! BUT while I work on the website, I plan to post up with old translations as well but also review and edit them. I am slightly confident that my younger self would have tried to translated and worded the lyrics so it would convey what needed to be convey and avoid misinterpreting... I was actually thinking of asking if anyone would be willing to comment or add the subtitles to their videos but I had a feeling it would be a bother so I gave up on that. ( ; ; ) The problem about most USSS videos is that the videos don’t have the option to add subtitles.. The title, “Poker Fake”, could be a reference to the term, “poker face”, which is used to describe a face or expression that hides one’s emotions/feelings. The title could suggest that players have to fake it when playing poker.
The reason the lyrics mention “52 goddesses” is because there are 52 cards in a standard deck.
And here’s a bunch of definition of the poker terms used in the lyrics:
Flat call: When a player, who might be expected to raise, calls (matches) the bet instead.
Slow play: When a player, who has a strong hand, plays/bets weakly so that other players are more likely to stay in the game and raise the bet.
Gutshot: Combining the cards in one’s hand and the cards on the table, this term describes when a player has 4 out of 5 cards to make a “straight” combination, and one of the middle cards is missing. For example, 5-6-7-x-9: in this case, the player is missing an 8 to make a straight.
Name of the rounds
Pre-flop: When the two players to the left of the dealer place a blind bet before they get their cards (i.e. the first round of betting). After that, the cards are dealt to each player (2-4 cards depending which game of poker they’re playing).
Flop: When the first 3 (community) cards are dealt face-up on the table. Second round of betting.
Turn: When the 4th (community) card is dealt and added to the table. Third round of betting.
