i think I've said something similar before but why are some of the AI bros so worried about having to disclose their usage? I know they have no shame using it in the first place, so why are they suddenly scared of an "AI Hate Train" ruining their day? What happened to finding your audience and marketing to them? Why can't you build a game using AI for the people who don't care or really like AI? Why can't you make something for the investors who wanna win big with some kinda AI product? what the heck are they afraid of. do they believe in AI as the future or not? do they believe AI is as good as they say it is? would your amazing product not "prove the haters wrong?"

#rs!#i have so many more thoughts and comments on this but I don't have the time or energy #and i think i should also drop the interest cuz it really is that simple #just own up to it. be responsible for what you do and the effect you have.#i don't think gen AI is the future for art. not the best one at least. and if I'm wrong then I'll own up to it.#but right now I'm pretty darn sure about its effect on society today and tomorrow.#and pretty darn sure that it's just gonna make the existing problems in the industry/general art ecosystem worse.#maybe not worse for whoever's scraping the cream off the top tho.#people who write code still have some hope imo. idk about the jr role. maybe you'll just be stuck playing AI shepherd.#(( the idea alone makes me wither. ))#....but yeah with the way things are now i just. don't see conditions improving for artists. we'll manage but it will be different times.#obnoxious times.#a "made with AI' label requirement will only go so far. something broke my laptop's networking stack recently so I'm like. suffering while I try to figure out wtf is going on

i never knew this thing came up in the console window when you open the tumblr page up for inspection.

#rs!#tumblahh #anyways: i'm getting bullied by instant connection timeouts #and IDK why.#i've flushed and switched DNS providers - ran the networking hail mary commands - rebooted several times #forgot my wi-fi connection and everything.#i might need to try running on my phone hotspot for a solid two hours for a little while to be sure the router isn't picking on me #cuz I don't wanna have to troubleshoot drivers rn i'm kinda busyyy #this is killing every browser so I guess i'm glad it's not vivaldi #but vivaldi is responding the worse to this whole thing #only issue w/ the hotspot thing is I ate up 1GB in the span of 30min. which was concerning.#data usage meters couldn't tell me anything useful about it tho.#i guess the worst part is I don't have a system restore image cuz i'm an idiotttt #i've been neglecting backups and everything
