Gentle reminder that the brain gets used to intense stimuli over time and that it tends to seek out things that make you feel bad again once you’re in a better place

So if you’re suffering from trauma, abuse or depression then don’t beat yourself up about wanting to feel bad again and seeking out triggers or abuse. It’s not because you deserve any of that, it’s because your brain was exposed to bad things for so long that it can’t make sense of how you’re doing now.

We’ve all been there. It’s going to be okay. You can do this.

“queer” is such a useless term. if i tell someone im bisexual, they know i am attracted to men and women. if a man tells me he is gay, i know he is a man exclusively attracted to other men. if someone tells me they are queer, it tells me nothing about them. it doesnt tell me who they attracted to. it tells me nothing about that person.

queer covers everyone who is noncis or nonstraight

it covers the identities you want to erase or disallow from the community

it doesn’t immediately tell you private information about someone’s sexuality or gender that you aren’t entitled to

and the person in question may not even know themselves, but queer is what they know they can always use if they’re not sure except they know theyre definitely not cis/straight

you hate it because it’s too inclusive and too broad. It’s supposed to be inclusive and broad. If someone tells you they’re queer then all you need to know is that they are in some way not cis or straight and other than that it aint your business. If being told someone’s identity is none of your business pisses you off, thats a you problem

I thought of a really good analogy for Queer/Quasi-platonic relationships!!

Imagine platonic relationships are vanilla ice cream. Romantic relationships are chocolate, and sexual relationships are strawberry.

Queer-platonic relationships are vanilla, but maybe you have chocolate chips (romance-oriented things like commitment, kissing, cuddling, holding-hands) or maybe even some strawberry pieces (sexual activities, sensual touching etc) depending on what you like. However, there isn’t any chocolate or strawberry ICECREAM. Some people only have chocolate pieces, some people only have strawberry pieces, some have both, and some have none! Some have a few chocolate pieces, and some only have a few strawberry pieces.

It’s different based on what each person likes!
