And, well. There isn't so much to say as there has been done, but I've been building a private community of my friends and setting up servers and all that other stuff that one does. Currently an invite-only Discord and working with others for hosting of games and other services, so, I've been trying to keep my mind occupied given the evil & insanity going on in the US right now..

I don't know if I should tell folks to ask me to join here or not, although some of you ARE there now already. Doing my best to avoid drama and for it to all feel safe and free of bigotry and other awfulness.

There's also been a lewd project or two I've been involved with for the past year, one of which kinda got derailed by, well, it not feeling so appropriate given current events. If you know, you know. If not, well, maybe I'll talk about it more later..

I had a pleasant surprise recently, so thanks to Serious Rainbow for this pony take on the Heretic title screen art! You might have heard, but a few months back, Nightdive released a remaster of Raven Software's Doom spinoffs, Heretic and Hexen, as, well, Heretic x Hexen on Steam and other game platforms. It was a free upgrade if you already owned the older versions, and I briefly messed around with it, but I didn't delve too deep at the time.

And then I noticed this.

Long ago, back when the wHeretic source port was released, I came up with names for the secret episode and levels contained within the Shadows of the Serpent Riders retail release. These became the fanon titles for the next 25 years, and have ascended to canon, as they are now what you see when you choose to warp to them in the official product.

I can now properly say something I did is in the actual idtech games, even if it's something as small as a few strings of text, but, damn! That was one hell of a lovely thing to see, and vindication as well, since I'd passed these to and gotten the approval of Michael Raymond-Judy for them as well. I'd interviewed him once during my GameSpy days, and still have the HTML for that lying around, and confirmed that the first map of the secret levels was indeed based on Raven's offices at the time.

Not at all! Things have been so stressful lately because of, uhm, world things.. that escapism is needed for one's mental health, and I've always enjoyed helping out new players. I appreciate the kind reply, it really made my day; and hope you continue to enjoy your time in Appalachia! ^^

Oh! And the next major update is adding a system to help you easily determine what plans & recipes you're missing, and where to find them, so that'll be a huge benefit to help you locate cosmetics and upgrades alike!

The Simpsons made this "joke" decades before half the folks here were even born, and yet it's remained relevant ever since. Not even one week and already too many are caving in. What, your rich donors were actually being affected now, so ya'll had to surrender? Pathetic old bastards!

Quite a few announcements today, including improvements to the current 3D games, upcoming remasters, re-releases and so on, as well as the sales!

It's nothing too surprising, as we've known about these plans for a long while, the issue is, as always; the execution. The current version of Fallout 4 with JUST the free Creation Club content is a bit overwhelming for a new player, let alone a returning one, popping up far too many quest markers when you leave the Vault. I fear a lot of this is going to be poorly integrated in the same way New Vegas activates a dozen things the second you step out the door, but at least if everybody has all these files, a player-made mod can standardize stuff better. We'll see..

Oh, and a reminder that you can grab a free trial of Fallout 1st now, which you can use to permanently unlock a number of goodies in 76, including the NCR Ranger Armor and several other cosmetic and even storage items! You can't fill up the latter without 1st, but you CAN withdraw from them at any time, so some folks like to only subscribe for like, a month (or via these trial events), go crazy farming, then be set for the rest of the year if playing casually.

Hope ya'll were safe, these last few days especially, and of course, enjoyed the 15th anniversary of Fallout: New Vegas! I had to do something particular myself; and take a picture of the moment..

I want to talk, but I don't have the words at the moment. Just know I haven't given up, it's simply quite difficult at times. A family friend lost their daughter in a car (actually bus..) accident recently which hurt my father especially, and there's some other close-to-home things going on I won't discuss because privacy issues and uhm, they're still around to potentially be affected..

How long until Glorious Leader orders broadcasters to show pro-fascist programs that praise him, or else they'll have their licenses revoked too? How many times do the fucking frogs need to be boiled before they realize, it's happening here!

In more grounded things.. be aware of Discord scams. Never, ever click anything you aren't expecting; even if the site it claims to link to is legit, chances are there's some script injected in what they sent to you that's gonna hijack your system. Especially if you get a message from someone you haven't spoken to in a while; quiz them on some personal knowledge they wouldn't know from the logs.
