Woman of the wild

"Hey! A god such as yourself is free to ask me anything. But the answer is pretty simple. He didn’t impress me. Quite the opposite in fact." She stated nonchalantly.

"So of course, the best way to find a mate like that is through combat. Not much more to it than that." The mienshao explained as she slid the corpse to the side with her foot.

The mienshao seemed to miss the latter part of the ghost's inquiries as she turned around with a tired, annoyed, almost even bored look on her face. Like she's had this conversation many times before.

"Listen, if you’re trying to make me feel bad for killing someone. You’re wasting your breath." Linda stated bluntly. Folding her arms under her chest. "I’m a carnivore. You know, a meat eater. And I’m a big girl that needs to eat just like anyone else. Not only that. This is the wild, mons die every day out here." She explained as if this was common knowledge that the ghost type should've already known.

"A liepard doesn’t worry about the life of a patrat it’s eaten, a pidove doesn’t think about the feelings of the sewaddle it’s picking apart. And I’m not going to lose sleep over prey either. It’s just how things are." She said matter-of-factly before turning her attention back to the druddigon. 

"Also, who said anything about cooking?" The dragoness asked rhetorically as she crouched down to place a hand against the body of the corpse and grab the wrist with her other. And begins pulling the arm to the sound of cracking joints and bones.

The purple mienshao looks amused as she raises an eyebrow at Alphonse's statement.

"What, was one of them that order or something?"

Linda stood there listening to the Absol with amusement. So much so that she was almost impressed by the smaller mon's audacity.

"Oh I heard you. I just wanted to be nice and give you a free pass in case you didn't want to say it to my face. But I'll admit. I can appreciate the arrogance." She started, leaning forward a little. Her free hand still on her hip.

And then she moved as she spoke again. Without a warning, a chance to react, or even being able to see it happening.

There was the brief whoosh of the air from how swiftly her hand moved from her hip to Destino's neck. The force knocking the crown right off the absol's head.

As it clattered to the ground the dragoness lifted the dark type up like they were a feather. Her grip on their head firm but restrained enough so that the absol can breath.

"And I'm not sure if you know this, but those things are pretty important out here. Because like my 'servant' said. Talking like you do to the wrong mon will get you killed if you're not strong enough to fight back." The mienshao explained. Her tone unassumingly casual as she pops Destino up in her hand to readjust her grip, so that the base of the absol's skull now resting in her palm. with her thumb and her index finger pressed into both sides of the dark type's face.

She brings the smaller mon closer to hers as she looks into the absol's eyes with a sly grin framed by her sharp teeth.

"Lucky for you though, I prefer teaching kids over killing them so they'll grow up stronger. Hard lessons are the kinds that stick with you the most after all. And I can clearly tell you're in desperate need of a few yourself." She explains, her voice in that same tone. Linda gently digging her index and thumb claws into the dark types's cheek. Enough so to start drawing blood while the rest of her fingers tighten around their neck.

"This guy though?" The dragoness uses the hand carrying it to give the druddigon a couple firm pats that give meaty thuds in response. "Yeah he's dead, he wasn't good enough to be my mate so I caved his face in." She casually stated, rolling her shoulder to reposition the corpse on her shoulder with a bounce. "But I wouldn't worry about him. Unless you want some when we get down the mountain." Linda offered with a friendly smile as she crouched in front of the sylveon.

The dragoness spoke in her usual friendly tone. However the piercing look in her eyes, however brief, made that last sentence feel more like a warning.

And she continued speaking as if nothing happened.

"Alphonse knows this especially. He's been following me longer than anyone I've known."

Linda then glances to the druddigon she's carrying. "As for this guy?" She stated as she bounces the corpse with a roll of her shoulder. "He's a dragon I tried to court. But he ended up failing me so he's gonna be our dinner tonight instead."

The dragoness understands why smaller mons choose to run away from her, it's the smart thing to do when you sense a predator.

But at the same time, she can't help but find the reactions from those that stay like this eevee cute. So much so that she held back a giggle as she crouched down to make herself less intimidating.

Linda straightens her self up a bit as she swings her tail back behind her.

"So what brings you to Mt. Silver? Are you looking for something too?"

"Fitting of someone enforcing the stereotype of a bratty royal youth." He stated with collected and professional tone. Assuming that crown of yours isn't a prop from a playset of some sort. It is rather small after all." He commented, his tone laced with disgust and sarcasm while remaining collected and professional. The indeedee turned to properly face the dark type as he continued.

"Nevertheless, milady is nomadic, a concept that's likely foreign to you." The psychic type answered, looking down his nose at Destino. "She's been to several regions already and has stayed in places with more significance than a cave on Mt. Silver."

Alphonse tilts his head forward to look at the absol directly. "I would advise against making such accusations about people you don't know. Out here such statements can get you killed." He sternly warned. "And if you wish to speak on her reputation-"

Alphonse cut himself off for a brief few seconds as he suddenly sensed something big. And after realizing what is coming, a smile appeared on his face as he continued.

As the indeedee gestured towards the dark entrance of the cave. It begins to echo with heavy footsteps that are growing louder as something powerful approaches.

"However I can assure you as Milady's butler she treats me well for the many years we have traveled together. I have long since earned her respect with the work I do for her." He stated, his neutral tone having a hint of pride in it. He turns his attention to the cave that has been rather quiet now, looking into it with a calm smile. "Even if she sometimes needs some convincing for her to allow me do help."

"But she is a woman that, while intimidating to some, is rather friendly. Especially if you get to know her and she takes a liking to you."

The indeedee turns to look out to the forest. "And yes, it is a rather nice view up here. Another perk of traveling with her."

There is a single loud boom and tremor, followed by a roar that echoed from the cave before Alphonse began to answer the kubfu.

"Milady is attempting to court a mate and has asked me to stand out here so she won't be disturbed." Alphonse stated calmly as the scizor remained immobilized by his gaze. "She is more than capable of handling herself as well as anyone else that were to interrupt." He continued as he simply extended an arm out from his position towards the steel type. "So if you were to go in there, you would be the one that needs saving." He stated nonchalantly as if this is normal.

The blue pad on his paw began to glow with a hum and the scizor found themselves being pulled towards the indeedee.

Freed from the effects of Mean Look, grey bug type now finds themselves stuck to the indeedee's paw. However they are quickly released as Alphonse speaks once more. His tone unchanged. "Now if you would be so kind as to wait outside, or be on your way. It would be much appreciated."

The presence of the Nidoviper seemed to put the psychic type on alert. As he spent a moment to begin looking the hybrid over in silence.

Satisfied with his inspection, he began to respond.

"Your concern is appreciated, however I can assure you I am quite capable of taking care of myself in milady's absence."

"I follow her orders to her satisfaction. As it is in my nature as an indeedee. And in turn, I earn her trust to remain at her beck and call, even if it did take some convincing at first. " He stated, showing a hint of somberness in his tone near the end, passing a glance back towards the cave as another faint roar echoed from within it.

He quickly returns his attention to the individual in front of him and continues. "But yes, it is an honor and a privilege to be made to serve milady. As for my name?"

"Now if I too may inquire, that symbol on your vest. What does it stand for? It is not one that I recognize."

The indeedee looked at the braixen with curiosity. Wondering why they chose to communicate in such a manner.

However he did not dwell on it. Instead, he returned his attention back to the cave along with Shauna as a small tremor was felt beneath them before answering the fox's question.

The two felt another tremor beneath their feet almost in response to the Indeedee's short statement. Followed with a faint but deep booming and bellowing, echoing deep with in the mountain.

The sudden presence of not one, but two pokemon was rather surprising for the Indeedee.

Before he choose to answer, he choose to have a look into both of them to see if they truly were just curious.

Satisfied, he returned his attention back to the cave before him.

"Caves are indeed dangerous. And your tendency to avoid them would do you well today. As I would not recommend going inside right now." He warned with an tired calmness in his tone.

He then glanced back down towards the Mimikyu. "Do not mind me however. I am simply standing watch per request."
