Log Off Protest - Phase Three

Starting February 1st at 12 am EST and extending to February 8 at 12 am EST, Phase Three consists of logging off Tumblr for an entire week and sending daily tweets to those who oversee Tumblr. 

Phase Three’s main goal is to drop Verizon’s stock and to make Tumblr aware we are not standing by as they censor users and enforce a shoddy Flagging system. By tweeting each day, we gain exposure on our cause and put pressure on Tumblr to change. 

It’s not healthy to be online for more than 15 hours a week. So by logging off Tumblr for a week, you can reduce this time online and do other healthier activities. Find a new hobby, maybe visit some places, work on schoolwork, play a new video game, and so on. The things you can do other than log onto Tumblr (a singular website) is endless. 

I have a family friend who worked at our local Salvation Army headquarters as a a secretary. This particular office took all the Christmas donations for children in need, put them in a warehouse, and on a designated day the staff and their friends picked through them all, taking whatever they wanted. She saw people hauling away bikes donated for specific families. Some local children had hundreds of dollars of gifts donated in their name, and on Christmas they received three cheap things, items likely not even from the person who sponsored them.

My friend quit, and I’ve not given them a dime of my money since then.

“Long story short, some rival gang got to her and told her some bullshit about FAHC, me in particular, coming after her for her status. I’ve tried to be civil, but she’s not having it.” Lindsay said quickly as she fell in step beside Sam. “So…she may not be too happy if she catches you with me. Don’t worry about it though. You’ll be fine.” she continued with a shrug. “Mica isn’t that bad. Just don’t get too…flirty. She doesn’t do well with that unless you’re special.”

She rolled her eyes, “I know how to make myself look decent. I just didn’t wanna waste the time on someone I didn’t know would even show up. “And…her name’s Mica. Mica Burton. She’s a high class criminal. Her rank rivals Geoff’s and she’s only 24.” She sighed, “She is….something.”

“We should go on a vacation.”

“Can I borrow some money?”

“So…. my parents kicked me out. Can I crash at your place for a while?”

“I’m colorblind how am I supposed to know which is the right color?”

“Please don’t be mad….I couldn’t just leave him/her alone in the cold. ”

“Look how cute she/he is!”

Lindsay looked him up and down. He had one thing right, names. Real names meant vulnerability and she had already pushed the envolope on that. “Ruby.” Then she backed off a bit, “I’ve heard about your way with words. I need you to talk for me. I think I’ve got a lead on someone who knows something but they aren’t gonna wanna see me let alone tell me anything. No one else in my crew can get them to talk either. It’s too risky threaten any harm, let alone actually cause some.”

“ absolutely. unlike the rest of the boys, lounging and napping is definitely a nice break from the utter chaos that goes on around here. ” she notices his sudden change in mood, but decides aganst prying any further. “ well, if you say it’s nothing major, then it’s nothing major. i’m just surprised you decided to call me is all. ” jack tells him as she crosses her legs, taking another bite from her pizza.

“ pizza’s pizza. i’m in. ” jack follows him towards the kitchen. she takes a slice from the combo pie before hopping up onto the counter. taking a large bite, it takes her a minute to answer his question. “ even FAHC needs a vacation sometimes. ―we also have a bit of a.. stickup coming soon, so i’m laying low for now. ” the redhead explains, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. “ so craig’s being cranky, huh? any reason why? ”
