Arc: yeah, this sort of thing is a problem I encounter all the time in the fandom, only instead of physical differences, it's people not having opportunities to discuss traumatic events with people who they would consider their peers.
With this ultimately leading to young people who were a victim of circumstance getting ostracized by people who would otherwise claim to support them, because they decided on the survivors behalf that never mentioning or dealing with the topics was better than the alternative.
Thinking that because many would rather be private with their trauma, that no one should be allowed the option to be public with it.
Even in clearly labeled spaces that deal with such topics that would ve better described as semi-public.
Instead saying such things should only be spoken about with a doctor.
Which a cursory analysis would quickly prove woefully inadequate.
As not only are such things prohibitively expensive and often hard to acsess in the first place, but you don't live the majority of your life in a therapists office.
