Cloud at an angle also emphasizes how fucking lost he is at all times. Blank eyed stare every time something strange or new happens. This boy has the perfect figure to fight god and none of the foresight to read a newspaper or go to the library or listen to gossip at a bar.

(I have only played remake but I keep seeing clips of rebirth and every time Cloud is on screen in said clips he is either badass, clueless, being flirted with (clueless squared), or adopting a bunch of troopers into breaking the law about harboring criminals (badass squared plus adorable for extra points).)

I am convinced that everyone's main goals in this are to do their own shit and watch Cloud just get into events by mistake. Sometimes Cloud is the event and sometimes he's side questing it up and nobody can tell which is actually his priority anymore.

Literally everybody outside the group has more of an idea of what's going on at any given time than Cloud does and it's great.

The best part of this whole thing is that he isn't dumb or stupid or acting it up he's just missing all the social cues and making no effort to try and catch them as they fly by his face and hit Barret with the fact that he is the only real adult and everyone else is a traumatized kid.

Meanwhile Cid and Vincent are off buddy comedying on their own and that feels like Squeenix saw the shipping and gave us open implications to play with. But they left Barret to be a single dad to a bunch of disasters in physical form he never signed up for. Okay he signed up for Cloud once and now they are a super glue bonded group.
