A beautiful young maiden enters the chamber to find her king sitting atop an ornate golden throne. She wears a black cloak and has beautifully long, dark, curly hair, except for the left side of her head. Here it is shaved quite closely. She approaches cautiously, though she appears unafraid. "My king," she says as she kneels before him, "It is a joy to finally make your acquaintance." She raises her chin and looks into the king's eyes. "I have a few things to inquire of you, if you'll hear me."
Loki glances down at the new comer, taking in her appearance before looking away once more. "You may speak."
Not for a long time you say. Do i hear a hint of longing in there ? *tilts head slightly looking at you softly* I find it hard to believe that a intelligent and charming God like you would not find find company if you so wished.
His expression hardens. "You misunderstand. I do not seek 'love', as I do not desire it. It is a weakness that I willingly leave to others."
"Yup," Gwen said, popping her mouth on the P. "Short for Gwendolyn. It's nice to meet you, Loki." She went back to the polite smile, although the God was quite intimidating. "If you don't consider yourself evil, then why does everyone else assume you are?"
The trickster lets out a small chuckle at the naivety of the girls question. "Why indeed. Tell me Gwen, how is it that a creature so fair as you finds herself travelling unaccompanied?"
My eyes momentarily settled onto my king's moving lips, but quickly moved on. My eyebrow rose slightly at his question, but I quickly turned my expression neutral once again. I bit my lip in thought. "You understand correctly, Highness," I began, "I fear two things above all else. I fear spending my life alone. Having no companions with whom to pass the time and share stories and songs. My other fear is to pass out of this world without dignity. May I humbly ask the same question of you?"
The liesmith pondered her response without looking up. His eyes were carefully examining the craftsmanship of his bracers. "They are noble fears. As for my own," he paused, noticing a subtle flaw in the design, "I suppose I fear not living up to my destiny." With a flick of his wrist, Loki summonded a handmaiden to his side. Wordlessly, she commenced removal of the offending garment. "And now we are back to you. Tell me pet, what do you seek? What is your great plan for this lifetime?"
