[  teeth  tap  ]  teeth  click  together,  followed  by  simultaneous  laughter  that  completely  kills  the  tension

[  breath  ]  one  forgets  how  breathing  works,  pulls  back  too  fast,  then  covers  their  face  in  embarrassment

[  overcommit  ]  one  leans  in  with  way  too  much  enthusiasm  and  almost  topples  them  both

[  eye  contact  ]  one  opens  their  eyes  mid-kiss,  panics  at  the  eye  contact,  and  immediately  turns  away

[  timing  ]  both  lean  in,  both  pull  back,  both  try  again  at  the  exact  wrong  moment

[  hair  in  mouth  ]  loose  hair  gets  caught  between  lips,  forcing  an  awkward  untangling

[  balance  ]  one  stumbles  forward  during  the  kiss,  arms  flailing  before  catching  themselves

[  nose  ]  the  kiss  lands  squarely  on  the  nose  instead,  followed  by  frozen  confusion

[  smile  ]  a  grin  breaks  the  kiss  before  it  even  starts,  ruining  the  moment

[  laugh  ]  a  laugh  slips  out  mid-kiss  and  derails  everything

The tripped security system lights up every floor of the building like Christmas, the persistent high-pitched blares still echoing in Elektra’s ears. Escaped, but barely, and only after bypassing the auto-lock features on the doors by breaking glass and taking a six-story free fall onto an unsuspecting vehicle below.

Elektra lands on the trunk, absorbing the impact with control. She rises up from bended knee and takes in her battered partner.

jessica scoffs, which is then followed by a strangled cough as debris coats the inside of her nostrils. "your vote of confidence is heartwarming." she mutters, taking off behind elektra.

Yet a new reason to add to the list of why she hated the city. It never seemed to sleep. Or maybe she just couldn’t bring herself to leave work when she had just signed a new contract earlier in the week, one that was more than a normal year’s revenue and promised additional contracts over the years with New York’s most elite. Despite how there was something about her newest client that didn’t feel right, gave her the chills. But there was also something about him that demanded perfection and respect, leaving her ultimately unable to deny signing a contract with him.

Almost midnight and Robin finally resolved herself to leave, the office already looking like it had been empty for hours, every light off except for the few needed for to get to the walk to the elevator. Purse packed up and trench coat pulled on, she had the file in hand that contained the worrisome new contract as she left her office and took the elevator down to the main floor of the building…until she realized the keys to her apartment were still on her desk. She made her way back upstairs with annoyed sigh, marching down the long hallway to her office, barely stepping through the doorway when she saw him from the corner of her eye.

The figure standing in the shadows was tall, ominous, and clearly just as surprised to see her as she was to see him.

“W-We don’t keep any money in the building.” Robin tried to sound confident but it was hard with the man standing in the shadows. Swallowing stiffly, blue eyes darted to her desk and briefly debated if she could make it to the bottom drawer where she had her pistol hidden safely away. It was barely twelve steps across her office but at the moment with daunting man standing in the shadows, it felt like a mile.

with half of the people there seeing secretaries and non-management as faceless blobs, it was easy to come in carrying coffee and insist she was the new hire. then, she chose an empty cubicle to play office worker in, offer to file paperwork which promptly ended up stacked on a random filing cabinet, and hiding out in the bathroom to understand the inner workings for what she needed to do. at the end of the week, she's swiped a couple keycards, charmed her way past security and had even perused a couple offices after hours.

"does anyone ever leave?" jessica grumbles as the last of the employees filter into the elevator. after some professional eavesdropping, she's gathered that -- a quick look at the nameplate on the desk-- robin bryne was recently contracted by fisk. eager to get her hands on anything having to do with the man, she resolved to take a quick look through any files that might be kept in the office and add it to her growing folder of possible evidence.

well, that was the plan, at least.

spinning on her heel, she curses under her breath and debates on whether hightailing it out of there would be a smarter option than interacting with robin bryne herself. but, she currently stood as an obstacle between where jessica stood and the door so there went option a.

"only while it's unfinished," she clarifies, sensing an undertone of self-deprecation in the other's tone. "it just needs some TLC." the small smile on her lips grows wider as soon as jessica asks, immediately jumping on the opportunity to talk about her work. "multi-purpose pen! it's kind of like... swiss army knife, but easier to use. i'm trying to implement nanotechnology to cycle through the different tools... but the laser isn't the most straightforward." she nearly slashed her desk in half when she tried to switch between knife and laser.

concepts.

trace. sender is much closer to receiver than usual and notices something different and gently traces their finger along that part of reciever's face. (beauty mark, scar, dimples, etc.)

couch. sender and receiver wake up after accidentally napping on the couch together.

floor. for whatever reason, sender and receiver choose not to share the same bed or couch. one party takes the floor and both keep striking up conversation, whether it is bickering or heartfelt.

twin bed. sender and receiver share a twin bed, likely too small for them and causing them to be closer than usual.
