I have done so much today. I have filled my time with activities so my mind has no time to spiral. Today I found out a couple things about myself: I can be patient, even with tedious tasks, I have enough experience in the kitchen that I can just eyeball measurements, and I love my sister, the eldest one. Tomorrow is her birthday; she’s turning 29. It’s crazy to think there are people out there who have loved you since the moment you came into existence, even before you came out of your mother’s womb. I had an epiphany today, and I think I will share to with her when she comes to our house. The thought was as follows: I think one of the many keys to life is to do something everyday that makes you proud of yourself. It can be little things, like opening the door for someone, making something with your hands, or taking your meds as prescribed. Being mean to someone isn’t going to make yourself proud, instead maybe stand up for yourself in a respectful way. Yelling at your sister :\ isn’t going to make you proud. Call your grandma. Sit on the porch. Listen to your favorite song and sing every lyric correctly (I recommend All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)). Everyday we can’t graduate college, or get a promotion, or solve world hunger, or go to a concert. I think sometimes we forget to appreciate the little things in life. And these small things are what keep me going. I will keep these things close to my heart, because I will be sad again. It always comes.
