Do you wanna read about my life? I never really know anymore what kind of connections people would like to make with me through social media. But when I only post art and things for sale, I feel like Iām being a robotic sales machine. A bot, if you will.
At the same time, my life has become pretty routine and monotonous. I am a total hermit now. And I want to see my friends, but I always think, thereās not much for me to say and Iād bore them anyway. Anxiety is like this I guess. I tend to feel the same about social media. What do I have to blog about? Nothing worth reading probably.

I ordered standee samples and keychains!! We (me and @candidishida) will sell the keychains, but not these particular standee samples. The ones that will be in the shop will be sized differently. But Iām excited!! Weāre getting close. Iāll be ordering all the standees today, and I ordered some holographic stickers already. Soon I will be ordering more stickers, and maybe pins or magnets.
If everything goes according to plan, we should have our shop open with merch in April!

Unpopular opinion, but itās based that Togashi included a trans character in his manga, and she looked hot and feminine and not at all like an offensive, ghoulish caricature of a trans person.
Itās based that the offensive ones in the scene where we meet her are Yusuke and Kuwabara, who say and do some transphobic shit and look like total chud assholes.
Itās based that one of the major themes in Yu Yu Hakusho is that toxic masculinity destroys menās lives and relationships with others. We see this again and againāYusukeās dad is out of the picture, Kuwabara tries to prove himself through street fights, Toguro gives up his humanity. The bigotry in the scene with Miyuki represents yet another machismo blunder. Itās pretty blatant in that purpose, as Miyuki herself points out that Yusuke and Kuwabara are bigoted, as seen in the panel above.
Does it suck that a trans character was used, to basically make a small ethical point? Yeah. It also sucks that the context was that this was written in the 1990ās, and that Togashi, who is an ally, probably had to make a lot of concessions to include a trans character in his manga at all.
This is just the humble opinion of one trans person. You are welcome to respectfully share a different analysis of the text if you have one.

Right? Even though I would rather not have the transphobia if given the option, ultimately Iām glad Miyuki was in YYH. And itās all pretty memorable, I think especially because the point stands out that trans women are women and that the boys were being unreasonable, creepy douche bags.
Yep. Teenage boys being teenage boys.
That and people think that the author automatically takes the side of his protagonists for some reason.
And as for your original comment about Togashi pointing out the limits of the male gender role, almost ALL of his main villains are like this, some more obviously than others. (Younger Toguro giving up his humanity and constantly punishing himself, Elder Toguro being...Elder Toguro, Sensui being similarly self-destructive to Younger Toguro as well as extremely closeted and emotionally stunted, Itsuki being a creepy-ass pervert with a purity fetish, etc.) Thoughts?
While the villains are good characters, they're horrible people, Togashi doesn't pretend otherwise. Togashi does call out the creepy behavior of his teenage protagonists too. There's a reason Keiko always slaps Yusuke when he's way out of line and being a pervert.

Yep, you both said it better than I could. Protoganists are not necessarily representative of authors. And most of the characters in YYH are morally complex. Itās not exactly a story of āgood vs. evil,ā and if viewers think everything the boys do is heroic, the point is lost.
