this has happened a few times before, but I keep encountering other men who say they want to be my friend, but it just becomes obvious that they see me as a woman and want something more than friendship, and when I let them know I'm a man, they look horrified and then just cease all communications

idk, this happened less than 24 hours ago so I guess the wound is still fresh but it's really hard not to feel alone when this happens

it just feels like most people like the idea of me more than who I actually am and it's all very well trying to love myself, but if I'm the only one who does, doesn't that just make me a narcissist?

not sure why this incident messed me up as much as it did, but I can't help feeling that people in general just don't like me

a couple years back, I remember praying to receive a large amount of money, the equivalent of one entire bitcoin

I thought I was on the cusp of receiving it, but it turns out that that just wasn't meant to be

I lost nearly £2000, some of which I had to take out a loan for, all for absolutely nothing

what really hurts the most is that I was going to use the supposed fortune I was going to receive for so many good things, like donating to the community centre, saving up for top surgery, making a head start on a potential career path in game design, hell, just getting through a month without having to ration my food

and I was gonna share it with my closest friends too

luckily the fraud investigation team at my bank are on the case and they're going to try and recover my funds, plus I'll talk to my local credit union about it since they've got experience with dealing with scams and all that

but I think what really adds insult to injury is the fact that there's another anime con in Manchester I was planning on going to this weekend and now idk if I'll get the money back in time

at the moment, though, I'm more focused on getting some groceries

plus I have a mental health appointment on Friday so I'll be able to talk about it then

I just feel completely crushed by this whole thing, not just because of my own loss, but because I can't do anything for the ones I care about

soon as I get my money back, I'm gonna hide in my room with a takeaway and have a good long cry

I've also been advised to inform local law enforcement, which I'm reluctant about, to say the least, but it's worth a shot, I guess
