Grace seeing this, finally feeling like Simon is stable enough to see the Greenhouse. I mean, the guy had a breakdown over the screen room, Grace was not going to risk his reaction to REAL PLANTS until he was sure Simon could handle it.

Grace excitedly leading Simon towards the Greenhouse. Opening the door. Watching for Simon's reaction, hopeful, but knowing it could be too much.

And it finally hits Simon.

Not relief. Not awe at the greenery, the abundance of life.

His purpose.

(working on this again after having to rush to finish work for finals has been a balm on my weary soul, but also i feel slightly insane bc i was tired of drawing and i am recovering by drawing🧎)

I made Grace’s scar with the intent that it would look like the surface of Adrian! There’s zero logical reason for this, it’s all love of the game and artistic license. Just a bummer that Rocky’s grabby scar isn’t in view 😔

Rocky isn’t in his ball cus he’s Built Different and no longer needs it (I want to see his beautiful self more clearly lol)

Puzzling it out. They're at the beginning stages of communication and Simon has been drawing them pictures in addition to working through the language barrier, but it's been hard. It doesn't help that Simon has obviously has some recent trauma and it's clear he and Grace have very different coping mechanisms.

While Adrian and Simon work on expanding the green house, Adrian is testing a new plant in the lab (before introducing it to the greenhouse. They want to make sure that any new plants 1- arent toxic and 2- will not negatively interact with other plant life already existing in the green house)

And while examining it, Grace stops and says quietly, "No way..." he runs a few tests on it and goes "No way!"

He still needs to dry and test samples, but he is almost certain he's found the closest he'll ever get to the equivalent of weed, which he hasn't had since his college years.

Adrian is concerned as Grace explains it at first, but agrees to help Grace as long as they run their own extensive tests first.

Kicking some dirt and huffing, Grace agrees never the less, knowing that it'll be months before Adrian gives him the green light.

Fast forward, and one evening Grace comes home and is very giddy. He holds his prize out to Simon, who Does Not Know what he's supposed to be looking at.

Grace realizes that Simon has never had weed before and explains it all to him. Grace emphasizes that Simon doesn’t have to try it if he doesnt want to.

Simon is nervous, but his curiosity pulls him in.

He agrees and Grace shows Simon how to inhale, however Simon does it wrong and nearly chokes. Grace guides him back to breathing regularly and then gets an idea, asking Simon if he can try something.

Crawling over and settling himself on Simon’s lap, Grace's first hit eases over his nerves. Simon looks up at him, the man's eyes sparking as he cautiously holds Grace closer. As Grace inhales, he can't help the smile that spreads over his face.

He guides Simon to tilt his head and gently gets him to open his mouth before Grace leans down, sealing his lips around Simon's, shotgunning the smoke into his mouth.

Believes he's a monster internally and externally vs "Jokes on you, im into that" *insert sonic freak meme*

I like the idea that Simon is Thicker than Grace, but shorter so his borrowed clothes fits him weird. I also like to think Simon is able to grow his arm back temporarily. Unfortunately it takes calories and/ or blood... I wonder if there's a willing donor...
