Tonight I cried because my group of friends sent in the group chat that they will get me a girlfriend. I don’t want a partner, I don’t need a romantic relationship. I know it’s with good intentions because they still struggle to understand what being AroAce means, specially since I’ve mentioned girls are pretty before and aesthetically I prefer them rather than men and my friends ARE trying even if it’s just by listening to me but… I can’t help but feel sad and misunderstood right now. actually hey btw, reminder that aromantic men and asexual men, like,,,, exist? and that just bc theyre men doesnt make their lack of romantic and/or sexual feelings "shallow" or "fake." i promise that men aren't always trying to trick you or lie to you or whatever, and denying aro/ace men's existence and validity only continues to hurt the entirety of the queer community.
