Iâm thinking the first thing I make with it should be boudin noir.

I had to make a tumblr just to ask this. I'm genuinely wondering how do you justify deleting comments and blocking people. This is not trying to be a pisstake, I'm legit interested in your opinion on this sort of moderation and censorship. When you delete a post or block someone, how do you explain it to yourself? Is it just that it's your personal website and some content are just not welcome or do you have a deeper explanation?
when i was ten years old my parents were gunned down in an alley by an internet jerk who thought when people didnât want to listen anymore to his jerky-ass things he had to say that it was somehow âcensorshipâ so now i dress up like a bat and remove jerks from my website
Look, the first amendment in America protects your right to criticize your government in a public forum without prosecution by said government. So commenting negative bullshit on someoneâs private page is not protected. Someone refusing to offer your assholery free web hosting on a site they run is not censorship. Their website is not your forum for public expression. Blocking and deleting online is akin to asking someone you hate to leave your fucking party- or simply refusing to invite them in the first place. A webpage where someone posts their content for viewers to voluntarily read is not an invitation for hostility and negativity. If you dislike the content on a given page and the author of that page hasnât explicitly said, âplease let me know all the contradictory and unpleasant things you have to say in response to this,â then you are not entitled to do so. Someone refusing to dignify your opinion by responding or leaving it posted on their page is not censorship. Itâs healthy moderation designed to protect the readers who are there for a good time- to curate the best possible experience for the pageâs intended audience.
More to the point: learn to accept and get over the fact that no one cares about your opinion nor about hurting your delicate little fee-fees when they excise it from their lives.
I have no idea what this subject has to do with the first amendment of America but alright. Itâs a global thing, not just about murrica. So why couldnât he just respond like this instead of what he gave me? I asked an honest question I was curious about because our views on certain aspects of life are different. I wouldnât go through the trouble of removing shit that I donât agree with or find unfitting, thus the question arose: what is his reason for doing so. I donât understand what was the reason for responding so degradingly. He couldâve just said because he can or because he wants to, but instead he answered in this condescending way. I just donât understand why, itâs so unnecessary. I genuinely just had a question I wouldâve liked to get an answer to.
I have nothing better to do right now, so Iâm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume youâre actually having trouble understanding why Willis was not patient with you. Hereâs your answer:
Because jerks have ruined it for everyone.
The Internet is full to bursting with assholes who howl about CENSORSHIP every time anyone refuses to give them a free soapbox for their vileness. Willisâ comments sections are not a pit of vileness like most Internet comments sections because he refuses to do that, so he gets a lot of these.
Oftentimes, the assholes will create brand new accounts and claim their concern is totally academic, itâs not that theyâve been banned or anything, theyâre just concerned about Freeze Peach and theyâre asking honest questions! Any impatience from the target of these is framed as mean and rude and degrading and evidence that the asshole is More Reasonable Than Thou and is therefore right.
You may not actually be one of these people, but we canât tell you apart from one by your actions.
Also, it was funny. It really was. It wasnât even a personal attack against you, it was just funny.

FUCK THIS FUCK THAT FUCK ALL YâALL IâM OUT
My hero, Nope Penguin.
i had to make it. no regrets.Â
I actually squeaked when I remembered I'd bookmarked this GIF:
âBut if you think for one second, for one solitary second, that demanding tolerance for men as a group, that dismissing the reality of violence against women because not all men kill, not all men rape, if you think thatâs more important than demanding justice for those who have been brutalised and murdered by those not all men, then you are part of the problem. You may not have pulled the trigger. You may not have raised your hand to a woman in your life. But you are part of the problem. This is not the time, to use the refrain of apologists for bigotry, to play devilâs advocate. The devil has more than enough advocates today. On most days, I can put up with aggressive faux-objectivity being used to shout down womenâs experiences and silence gendered trauma, but not today.â
â
Like many of us, Iâve spent the last few days reading and thinking and reading and thinking about violence against women. I watched a shitty Friday the 13th sequel last night, and what screamed out at me was not Jasonâs violence, but the many instances of the nonkiller men in the story who got angry when they were denied access to the women whose bodies they thought they deserved. Rodgers didnât exist in a vacuum.Â
I read this piece a few days ago, and read it again today, and I think itâs rawness gets right where I needed to go.Â

This article, too:
And mostly I'm furious that I'll eventually shrug all of this off, too, because laughing about it is easier than changing it. I'm furious because I don't know what else to do.
i am so sorry mcsweeney online that I open your RSS feed scanning for a new bitchslap and mark everything as read if i don't find one, but by now i have already soaked up six lifetimes' worth of neurotic whiteboy cleverness masquerading as mannered ironic detachment, and it's starting to give me hives
"Boys who like computers are taught that we DESERVE sexual attention from women. We need to get over it."
"'Grow the fuck up' is not an attackâitâs an invitation."
Boy howdy, is it hard not to quote the entire thing.

When I think an outragefest is stupid, I rarely say anything because it never changes minds - it just makes you a target. Anger swings wild.
Also - I think Iâm more suspicious now of my desire to say something in those situations. I used to be confused when people didnât think like me. Maybe if they just knew what I know theyâd see! Growing out of that is liberating. Well, maybe not growing out of it - just not caring any more. Learning to let people be themselves without feeling threatened or alienated by their differences?
Wise.
Neil deGrasse Tyson is not impressed with all your sexism.
