Jot it in June Prompt - Bloom

I almost threw the whole thing out this week....today even but I persevered because I will finish this fic this summer. ... SO HELP ME.

Why do I insist on writing the most depressing stuff? I wanted to swear there, but I refrained from doing so. Congratulate me. 😅

I actually have no idea how long this will be, but I know what's going to happen. I'm writing this and my other one as I go rather than having any of it done.

I put my cat into my fanfic

Am I writing a Veruca Salt fanfic?

Sometimes I write things that i actually really liked but still they got cut or I ended up rewriting the whole section and if no longer fit with the vision.

Anyway I’m just going to dump them into place on AO3 called The Cuttting Room Floor, and no there is no theme. They don’t go together in some way either unless I specify in the chapter summary that they do.

Please ignore the typo in the graphic, it’s been fixed in the chapter. Can not say the same about the rest of the fic.

I had lunch with my mom today, and memory came up while we were talking. When I was 27 or 28 I went with my mom to visit family in Washington. We stayed at my Grandmas house. I always slept with the window opened when I visited, and one night there a really loud sound  that woke me up. Like something being knocked over. Instead of looking out I jumped out of bed and ran to get my mom because honestly I was afraid it was Richard Ramirez walking through the backyard. 

And I didn’t want to be proven right. 

So anyway she was half asleep and told me it was probably just a squirrel and told me to go back to bed. I was like ok well if you’re not worried about it then I’ll just keep my inner anxiety spiral to myself. I go back to the room AND I heard the sound again and it was definitely not a squirrel so I once again go to my mom’s room. 

She gets up, and looks out her window. We’re in the second floor, anyway she said “Oh my goodness it’s A BEAR!”  

It was trying to knock over my Grandmas feeder. 

I felt so RELIEVED it was a bear and not, in fact, a Richard Ramirez copycat.

Anyways later in the week I was with my cousin and we were out at night taking her dog out for one last walk, and she said that she thought it would be cool to see a bear just amble out on our walk. 

I looked at her like she grew an extra because WHAT DO YOU MEAN you want to see a bear?!? 

Some lesser talked about fanfic recommendations that I loved.

Détraquée - This follows Hermione through Year Six, and then through the Horcrux hunt, and then follows her through her 8th year and the start of her career. It is pretty popular, but it's probably my favorite one that I've ever read. It's a very slow burn, but the payoff is so incredibly worth it. (HEA)

The Internship - Draco and Hermione are fighting for the chance at a permanent position working with Minister of Magic. It becomes a fight to see who can prove themselves to be worthy of the position. A lot of banter, and fluff. (HEA)

The Crumple Series - AU Wartime fic where Draco is a double agent, and to keep Hermione safe keeps her locked up in his room for the first fic. Their love story is SUPER unconventional in this one, and tags should be minded. It's well done though in my opinion. (HEA)

Water - A 7th year fic where Draco and Hermione are Head Boy/Girl and honestly it's probably one of the most accurate Dracos. He's VERY toxic. (HEA is debatable)

The Injury of Finally Knowing You - A locked fic that starts out in 8th year, and then fast forwards several years. Draco is musician and horrible to her....and honestly the alley scene lives rent free in my head. (HEA)

Damn Your Love, Damn Your Lies - Draco's a Veela and Hermione is mate...and yes it starts out with him being pretty toxic and terrible to her. However there is an HEA!
