Good Lord, I know I said I would have some stuff up for you by now...
... but after the Opera Scenes it was then Thanksgiving break (where I was home without my computer) and now it's finals time and concert week (thank god my jury is rescheduled for January). I may have time come... middle of December?
EDIT: I just put in a few in the queue, if you all don't mind, I saw a master class of all the young artists at VA opera a week ago, and this is just me going down the list and posting the arias they performed.
Tenor Herbert Ernest Groh sings Prince Sou-Chong's aria "Dein ist mein ganzes herz" from The Land of Smiles (Das Land des Lächelns), an opera by Franz Lehár
Soprano Denise Duval sings several arias from Francis Poulenc's operas. "Oh! Mon père, cessons ce jeu, par pitié" from Dialogues des Carmélites, "Tu as raison. Si, je t'écoute..." from La Voix humaine, and "Non, Monsieur mon mari!" from Les Mamelles de Tirésias. As an added bonus, Poulenc himself is at the piano.
Sooooooon there shall be more consistent postings
I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry!!! I have been super busy (I'm a senior in college guys, my computer desperately needs a new battery/charger, and right now in the middle of tech week). Honestly, I'm going to see how many arias I can stick in the queue before I have to leave the computer.
I love you, please submit anything if you wish! Or send me singers or operas or arias or anything you wish to share at all!
Mezzo-Soprano Joyce DiDonato sings Prince Charmont's aria "Allez, laissez moi seul" from Massenet's opera Cendrillon.

Mezzo-Soprano Elena Obraztsova sings Charlotte's aria, "Va! Laisse couler mes larmes," from Massenet's Werther
Not completely sure if this is an aria, but it should be. I just saw The Pearlfishers with VA Opera and was floored by this aria (had to share). This is Soprano Anna Moffo singing Leila's aria, "O Dieu Brahma" from Bizet's Le Pecheurs de Perles.
Mezzo-Soprano Joyce Didonato sings "Desterò dall'empia dite" from Handel's Amadigi di Gaula
Soprano Montserrat Caballe sings Micaela's aria, "Je dis que rien ne m'épouvante" from Act III of Bizet's Carmen
I'm sorry for the lack of posts!
I was slammed with midterms last week, non-stop studying, or recovering with many naps. I am actually still working on a midterm right now. Everything will hopefully resume back to normal by Wednesday at the latest, all of my midterms will be over. (I hope to pack up the queue, i expect to be even more busy come early november. (between extra rehearsals, opera tech week, and the upcoming concert season, then finals...)
Of course, you all are welcome to send in arias to the blog, or singers, or anything opera related. I love hearing from other opera-lovers.
