I’m finally scheduled to have my top surgery later this month. I’ve waited for this for ten years, but all I can think about is how it is going to go wrong. They’re going to find some health reason why I can’t do it. The surgeon is going to call in sick on the day of my surgery.

When I got my first period, my mother didn’t believe me and told me I was “too young.” When we went bra shopping she bought me bras that were far too small, telling me I was being silly when I asked for bigger ones.
