the entity is supposed to “cure” them. it feeds on fear and shame and, in their case, tries to lure them in with lust and desire (see the photobooth scene, the funeral, probably the bathroom and even the door scene was leading to a kiss oh! and hunter). that’s exactly how homophobes see queer people: to them they’re wrong, some sort of perverts. they use that bullshit to excuse their hate. SO when naim touches it gently the entity is faced with the reality of queerness which is just love. it’s not different, it’s not less pure but it is just as beautiful as any other form of love. that is enough to make it hesitate. for a moment it doesn’t see anything to kill.

or at least that’s how i like to see it.
