What kind of studyblr am I?? I missed all the important landmarks! End of exams...summer holidays... ReSUlts dAy.
Iâm sure those of you who care are wondering how I got on! But firstly Iâd like to say a very very late well done to all studyblrs whether youâve recieved results or not...just the fact that youâre consistently working hard is amazing!
My results day was odd. It was happy and a whirlwind but It was over so soon. It still doesnât feel real.
I achieved the grades to study medicine at my top choice university! What more could I want?
Well for starters, I had this horrible, dark feeling within me. That I didnât deserve my place. That I made it because I was lucky.
These thoughts are examples of imposter syndrome..I may do a post about it later as I think a lot of med and non med students suffer from this and itâs a really demoralising state of mind to be in.
These thoughts are normal, but they are also not true. You deserve whatever you have worked for. Nobody can take that away from you. I know, itâs easier said than done, but itâs something I must convince myself of daily, as I sit in lecture theatres with the top whatever- percent of students in my country.Somehow I doubt Iâm really one of them.
I have to remember how hard I worked, and how much Iâve wanted this, and how the university must have seen something in me to choose me from thousands of applicants. That helps...for a while.
Anyways. Enough babbling. Iâm back after a hiatus that I didnât even realise I was taking, and Iâll post loads of med and uni-life stuff!
