How does author-artist matching work? Each writer will submit a summary of their story, and artists will get to claim which summary they want to create art for. Summaries will be posted anonymously.
Why do we have to keep works anonymous? This is to ensure fairness and avoid any bias. Artists will choose based on that work's summary alone, instead of any existing relationship with the author. It's fine if you've already mentioned a few small details but please keep the majority a secret until after claims!
What do I need to submit for claims as an author?
We'll ask for basic info such as rating, characters, warnings...anything an artist might need to choose a work. We will also ask that you have 45-50% of your final word count completed by claims, just to make sure everyone can finish. But don't worry - we won't be draconian about it if you're a little under! That's why we have extensions.
How do I find a beta for my work?
We will have betas signed up for the fest! We will provide a list, which we'll keep updated as betas can sign up at any time. But you are also very welcome to use your own.
How does posting work?
We'll email all of the teams asking what preferred dates you would like and then assign them. How many will be revealed on each day depends on how many teams we'll have. We'll also have an extension week, for anyone who needs some extra time to finish off their works.
Please note, your entire fic must be posted by this date! But how you do this is ultimately up to you and your artist to decide and coordinate posting.
What if I've signed up as a pinch-hitter?
You won't need to do anything for now! if someone drops out, either as an artist or author, we'll reach out to any pinch-hitters we have to see if someone is able to fill in.
With sign ups opening on Wednesday, please contact us if you have any questions or need something clarifying! We're really excited for this fest to start and we hope you are too!
