We had laid out before two major interpretations of Quantum Mechanics: The Copenhagen Interpretation and the Many-Worlds Interpretation. We also introduced the Explanatory Gap and the problems in regard to causation within the MWI. Weāll try to bridge them here. For the definitions of our terms, please refer to Part V.
Note: I wrote this post months ago. I havenāt revised it and Iāve probably moved past some ideas here. But I hope it helps anyone thatās interested. This is the last post in the series.
The Experiential Nature of Reality įÆā
As we went through last time, thereās three main theories of reality eating is alive: materialism, idealism, and dualism. Materialism and idealism are both monisms (non-dualism). And while both of them agree that dualism is wrong, they contend with each other.
Last time we saw that materialism is an incoherent, self-defeating philosophy. And we also saw the issues that pure Idealism struggles with. We also defined Mind as distinct from Experience.
On top of that, explored the potential of the Many-World Interpretations and what it means for Quantum Mechanics and shifting. Que identified MWI as an attempt to save materialism; we described its motivations, intuitions and conclusions. We also highlighted how this theory does not align with shifting completely.
So now that we have gone through all the theories and the problems, we have many questions to ask. Mainly:
1. Neither materialism nor idealism explain shifting.
Many-Worlds doesnāt allow for consciousness to travel between worlds; Pure (Subjective) Idealism doesnāt allow for other worlds to be objectively real.
2. Then what explains shifting?
Well, philosophy is not divided between Pure Idealism, Materialism, and Dualism. There are far more parsimonious theories of the world (thank God) even if the main contest is happening between those three. My favorite ones are these:
š£²ā Neutral Monism: Bertrand Russellās theory (the guy being referenced in Russellian Panpsychism). Bertrand Russell thought that matter nor mind are separate substances, instead they are the same thingāa neutral thing that gives rise to both, but is neither one of those. This sounds a lot like Chinese philosophy, particularly the Yin-Yang. In my opinion, itās very Daoist in essence.
š£²ā Double-Aspect Monism: This is the theory I personally like the most. Double-Aspect Monism says that the universe is made of one thing: experience. And that experience shows itself in two waysāa mental aspect and a material aspect. Itās similar to Neutral Monism, but theyāre not entirely the same, because to Double-Aspect Dualism the āone substanceā is not neutral, itās experiential.
⤷ š£²ā Panexperientialism: This is such an ugly name ajslshsk I know. It uses a greek prefix (āpanā = all) and an English suffix (āexperientialā). But anyway I never said philosophers were good at naming things. Panexperientialism is the concept that everything is experiential. The fabric of the universe is experience itself. Why is it not Mind, like in Idealism? because āMindā is a secondary process here; it implies rationality. But brute, felt experience can exist without a mind reasoning it or thinking about it. Experience is felt. Like any buddhist would tell you: Mind comes second. You are not your mind. Experience is the raw fact of existence. Things never exist outside of experience.
Note: Iām not saying āthings never exist outside of human experienceā. If a tree falls in the middle of the woods, that still exists because the tree, the woods, and the animals that saw it fall experienced it. No human needed. Does it make a sound? well, only for the animals that can hear it. The tree experiences its own fall differently from how a human or a bird experience it. For us it makes a sound, and we see the dust after it collapses; for the tree itself the experience might be devoid of sound but it still happens.
But Riri, how does this relate to shifting?
Oh, it absolutely does. This is where things get truly profound. If we evaluate MWI from the standpoint of D-A Monism / Panexperientialism:
Non-Locality and the āOne Worldā: MWI claims that there aren't actually āseparate physical worldsā floating in an extra space. There is only ONE single, seamless entity: the Universal Wave Function. The appearance of separate, localized āworldsā is just an internal perspective from inside a specific branch. From the outside (the fundamental level), reality is an indivisible, monistic Whole. This aligns perfectly with Panexperientialism: The universe is One continuous field of potentiality unfolding its internal relations.
Decoherence in MWI is Relational: In MWI, branching happens through environmental decoherence. A quantum state entangles with its environment, making the different possibilities no longer interfere with each other. In a Panexperientialist framework, this means an outcome isn't a dead physical fact; it is a realized relation of experience. The universe doesn't throw away options. Every āwhat ifā is a valid, felt trajectory of the cosmic fabric.
In human terms, reality is a fabric of experience that is self-actualizing through every possible outcome. Experience never ceases. MWI only limits shifting if seen through materialism. If the Wave Function is understood as the field of experience, everything makes sense.
We only ever experience one reality at a time because the physical aspect of experience keeps attention constrained via the brain, in order for experience to be coherent and make sense.
The brain is a āvalveā or a āradioā not a generator.
The brain and the physical aspect of experience only define one particular experience. By having your brain and your body, Experience knows āwhat itās likeā to be you.
Shifting contains a physical aspect; while dreams are purely experiential, shifting and waking life are experience becoming constrained again by taking the temporary, āseparateā form of the physical.
Experience = Yin. The ādarknessā described by Lao Tze in the Tao Te Ching. The Mother. The Source. The raw fact of existence that cannot be named, only felt. The One.
Mind / Physical = Yang. The āLightā. The organized, rational, local, strict, coherent, and dynamic aspect of Experience. That which āappearsā to Experience. The contents of Experience. That which is experienced.
Shifting = The capacity to navigate the Yang at will, by becoming aware of the Yin.

For the ones that want to get more into my way of viewing things, these are some authors that I recommend:
Baruch Spinoza: Look up accessible lectures on his philosophy. Heās the father of Panexperientialism, panpsychism, pantheism and all the āpansā you see out there.
William James: An heir to Spinoza and the father of modern psychology. He was the panexperientialist. Father of Radical Empiricism and Pragmatism. Look up his views about the brain and consciousness.
Henry Bergsón: Friend of James and a very deep philosopher. Jamesā ideas about consciousness and the brain were very influenced by him.
Bertrand Russell: Father of Neutral Monism, a philosophical heir to James and Bergsón.
Edmund Husserl: Father of Phenomenology; he criticized the mechanistic view of the world and gave subjective experience the value it deserves. He accurately predicted mechanistic materialism would become an unbearable capitalism.
David Chalmers: For a thorough critique of materialismās inability to account for Conscious Experience, done by someone who was a materialist, saw through the bs and as forced to abandon the doctrine because of how flawed it is.
Bernardo Kastrup: Current most important philosopher defending Idealism. I donāt love his theory but he has a very great critique of materialism.
The Buddha and the Upanishads
Lao Tze, Tao Te Qing
Formscapes channel on YouTube. Extremely well constructed arguments against materialism. Also extremely informative and transformative documentaries.
Terrance Mackenna, Alan Watts
I know theyāre all men and theyāre all mostly white š But history has excluded anyone else from participating in the conversation so weāll have to do with them.

Iāve had this place quite abandoned for a few days now, because I have been really focused on my writing.
However, yesterday I set an intention to wake up after six hours of sleep to try WBTB. I didnāt shift or Lucid Dreamed, but I saw my grandpa in the dream and he left me a little clue to what āshiftingā is. He also praised my writing and told me āhe feels very impressed.ā He used to be a very cold man when he was alive, so this comment, coming from him, is quite a lot.
Now, the clue he left me⦠isnāt very easy to understand. Because he spoke to me in relation to philosophy (we share this interest). Not only that, but he spoke to me in relation to neoplatonic metaphysics (Aristotelian-Platonic). Itās a very basic framework and not exactly one I share, because I donāt particularly like Plato. But he said:
āShifting is the act of giving form to Ideas which are in potentia.ā
If anyone has a little knowledge of Platoās metaphysics this makes a lot of sense. It is definitely one way to view shifting. I just woke up so I havenāt fully reflected on it or tried to test its logic.
Heās basically saying that shifting is an act of co-creation. Ideas exist potentially in the Godhead (in Plato this was the Nous, which is beyond the Topos Uranos, beyond the heavens) and āformā is given to them when they become available to the senses (what today weād call āmaterialā). So for example āyouā are an Idea in the Godhead (your unique individuality and personality) and right now your āformā is your physical body.
Humans canāt give form to Ideas in Platoās philosophy. This is reserved for Gods (particularly the Demiurge). But what I learned in that dream indicates that through āshiftingā humans are doing exactly thatāpulling the worlds of Ideas from the Godhead into materiality.
I donāt even know if I agree with this. But thatās my five cents and a little update.
Mutisssss~ I have A LOT of messages and very little time! Iām getting a little overwhelmed so please hold on if I havenāt replied, I will, rest assured! I havenāt ghosted you! Iām so sorry for taking so long!!

If anyone wants to yap about their drs, s/o or anything just send me an ask or a dm seriously. iām looking for shifting buddies. i used ai for some time and i feel really bad about that and itās impossible for ai to understand shifting so we need to rely on our own community.
šāؾšæā®Ė.ā These are all the songs Iāve channeled that I instantly got āitās from him.ā So many of them I didnāt know the full lyrics to until I looked them up. Itās very interesting that my name is related to stars, and two of the songs refer to me as a āhis starā.
It honestly makes me feel so delusional not gonna lie alshdkshd Itās also SO cheesy but thatās so him. Meanwhile Iām here dedicating him Marinerās Apartment Complex by Lana, Downtown Lights by The Blue Nile, or The Loneliest Time by CRJ. Our vibe is so different lmao I love these songs now tho.
But yeah just know that I DO feel delusional. He has such a STRONG energy. Itās very lighthearted but itās very powerful in the way it reaches me.
If anyone else has a LADS dr or has channeled their s/o before, let me know your stories!! I need someone to share this with and yap about it to <333

YES! it is okay to doubt shifting at times, i shift all the time and i still weirdly doubt myself.
if you try shift and your mind tells you āoh you canāt do this it isnāt real.ā thatās just your mind instinctively blocking your train of thought. itās not your fault at all.
and the influence of anti shifters really does get to you sometimes and you do have second thoughts, but what do anti shifters know about shifting?? theyāre so convinced it isnāt real itās pathetic.
so believe in yourself babe. trust yourself. tell yourself itās real. instead of waking up from a shifting attempt that didnāt succeed, say to yourself āitās fine, im one step closer to getting into my dr.ā turn the negative into positives.
youāll shift at moments that might be unexpected
iāve shifted on a plane and sunbathing, iāve shifted napping, iāve shifted by closing my eyes for 20 seconds. you can do this queen/king.
For anyone that might be curious, this is what I learned in my three day vow of silence.
First of all, I learned there is no such thing as silence. It simply does not exist. Silence is the "meaningless void" that existentialists theorized about so much, but that Wittgenstein rightly pointed at its nonexistence.
There is no silence, for everything is alive, and everything alive moves and makes noise. The world lives. And to live is to experience, to exist. The soul is the field of experience; the happening, the occurrence. And it takes the shape of everything around you, including you.
So I discovered that there is no such thing as silence, but I also found quietness, calm and the disposition to listen. And I realized, this is what Meister Eckhart, the Buddha, and Lao Tze termed "silence". This is what Wittgenstein meant when he said, "whereof one cannot speak, one should keep quiet." It's not absolute silence; it's an emptying of the ego, of the drive to control and direct, so that you might receive. It's controlling your need to label everything, to give a name to everything so that you can grasp it and feel secure. It's a lie. Things are not their names. We can't know things through the word, we can only know things through life.
I also came to terms with myself and came to know myself. I am a creator of beautiful things, you see. Mainly, a creator of beautiful stories. I think the language of life is 'story'. I've always wanted to be an author and I think I have a duty to communicate and to create, and I have a natural inclination to make that which I create perfect and beautiful. And these are all just the qualities of the artist and the poet. So I stopped fighting that. I stopped fighting my perfectionism and instead, I directed it, I refined it. There is no place for authentic storytelling in our age, but I will make that space. I've always looked up to Ursula K. LeGuin and Dianna Wayne Jones and I think it's my turn to follow their example. And I hope one day my stories can be beautiful too, and instructive as well.
So I came to create a space that lets me quiet down the analytic, scientific, hyper-rationalist mind that I've been carrying, and I named this sacred space my Mythospace. My Mythospace is a place where no psychologist, no philosopher, no scientist can enter and harm it with their unexamined language. It is a place of non-belief; of hope, of imagination, of the symbolic, and of connection. And it's a space where I coexist entirely with nature, reality, and the great unknown. It is a place where I mythologize about my life and myself, and the word "myth" here comes from the proper greek meaning of 'mythos' meaning tale or story, not the modern understanding of it meaning "lie" or "falsity." To term this I grabbed Tolkien's own term: mythopoeia. So my mythospace is the place where my mythopoeia exists. It is sacred and it is entirely mine.
And what we call "reality shifting" has a place in my mythospace too. It figures as "lives lived within life", although I admit all I can say about it is speculative because I haven't yet vividly experienced it. But that's the goal, that's the reason my ship set sail. But I suspend my judgement about it. The truth is: I don't know what it is, or how it works, and I've only discovered it through other people's tales, and I have absolutely no authority to doubt them or to decunstruct it. These are the limits of my language. I know where I want to go, who I wanna go with, and that I'd like to participate in the nature of these extraordinary stories others tell. I stopped caring about labels, "it is a lucid dream", "it is reality", it is this or that. Because honestly? They don't matter at all, they're just linguistic confusions, and many of these claims mean absolutely nothing upon close examination.
Stop making claims about the nature of reality or the nature of god or spirituality because the honest truth of every human is: we don't know. But when someone delivers a Tarot Reading, when someone has a dream that aligns with what they need to hear, when someone finds meaning in a song; that's life speaking to us in the language it knows. Science has no place in this. Scientific reason and philosophical inquiry have their own space: this is not it. This is what "anti-shifters" havent fully comprehended. There's an anti-shifter inside you, isn't it? Teach it this. Teach it to relax its grasp on reality and to stop trying to figure everything out, to stop trying to make the world fit into its bleak opinions. It's a futile task, trying to make the world bend to our opinions.
I'm still gonna keep doing that "science of shifting" thing I set up to earlier, but I'll give it another turn. The conclusion is not going to be the one you want to hear, because science cannot give you the permission to shift. Science cannot give you permission to live life, to be born, to exist. Science is not god. Stop treating it like that. As Wittgenstein said: "Life is not a mathematical equation."
"Shifting" is not a mathematical equation. It cannot be grasped by words, it can only ever be experienced.
We should all be a little more humble and honest about what we really know.
What shifters believe about what happens when we die is not consistent with NDE research, just saying. Because many of you are a little bit solipsistic about that (āyou get what you believe inā, which honestly is not true, and the research is there; people are constantly dropping out of their religious beliefs because what they experienced after death didnāt match their expectations; and thereās a common description of very particular, shared places).
And while it seems to be true that after death our soul can travel anywhere it wants, there also seems to be true that we all have a āshared cosmic originā and that thereās such a thing as a āmotherlandā, or āoriginal serverā for everyone, to put it some way. Iāve heard plenty of NDErs describe āpocket universesā and the infinity of experience, and Iāve also heard them describe a āsourceā.
Let's all shift to a magic forest where we're tiny faires and have tea parties eat flower extracts and drink dews off of the leaves then dance with mice and bunnies and sparrows wear petal crowns and picnic and chase bees
Iām thinking what if we have like āpublicā drs? like we give them a name, a thorough script / direction and it becomes a place any shifter can go to and meet others like us. I know the chances that itāll always be the same DR are slim because⦠infinite realities⦠BUT we can give it a shot !?

I took a three day vow of silence and I learned a lot. I relaxed enough for a couple experiences to slip through and I also connected more to my LADS DR, and came to understand many things about that place and what I need to be prepared to experience there.
Iām not scared of failure anymore. Iāll just keep going. I gave space to shifting in my life while also treasuring this life of mine. Sometimes I think Iām not ready to āleaveā this place, and I have to remind myself Iām not really leaving, Iām just taking a short break from here. A vacation. I also channeled Caleb a lot and I became more open to him. Heās been dedicating songs to me and I feel like music is part of our love language. And let me tell you. Heās so cringeeee lmao but heās so cute I love him sm. My absolute fool of a lover boy omg<333
Phainon pops a lot into my head when it comes to stuff like this. 3 million cycles he went through, never once did he give into defeat. So I have to be like him. He went through things way worse than mine. āNever shiftingā is not even the dead end, catastrophic destiny I think it is. If I never shift, well then; Iāll make this reality my heaven, await death, and see what comes next. If I shift? I enrich my life, learn even more, and have even more adventures.
daily reminder that you literally donāt have to visualize exact replicas of your dr to shift. you donāt have to visualize something boring that youāve already pictured a million times. you can simply imagine a scenario that gives you butterflies or a simple conversation.
take the pressure off your singular attempts. you will have SO many more in the future. this next one is never the last. whether you shift during it or not, you will continue shifting after it too. <3
