a flag for those who are platonic non-conforming! this also serves as a reworked coining post. flag meaning below the cut!

platonic non-conforming (or planc for short) is an opt-in umbrella term for relationships and people who do not conform to societal expectations of platonic affection or attraction. this can include a wide variety of experiences and relationships, so it's up to oneself to decide if platonic non-conforming fits you!

Made some alternate flags for somniosexual, somnioromantic and somnioqueerplatonic(formerly somnioplatonic before I made a new one for it) a while ago but decided to do alterous and sensual attraction as well as the new platonic variant!

Requisplatonic / Requiesplatonic : Being aplspec due to emotional exhaustion.

Bliskoplatonic

Bliskoplatonic: Only feeling platonic attraction when directly interacting with someone; said interaction can include texting, being near someone physically, playing a game together, etc.

Vitrumplatonic

Vitrumplatonic: Feeling disconnected or separated from one's platonic attraction. One may feel like they're viewing their platonic attraction through a glass wall.

Feaseplatonic

Definition: One who is a- [attraction type], and feel disconnected from love, does not feel love, rejects the idea of experiencing love, or otherwise feels connected to being ‘loveless’.

Credit to @ryanyflags for the atertiary flags. I changed the colors of the original ace flag to better match the rest, and changed the aqp to a gradient.

In fact, total break from the usual focus of my content lol no narcissism at all (though I’m still using some of the tags for the sake of reach. I’ve noticed a nice little overlap between aplatonicism and npd/npd traits, lmao)

Today—ironically by request of my friends—I felt like making a new/alternate design for the aplatonic flag because I’ve never liked the standard one very much. I wasn’t fond of the colours, which is fine, but the meanings also rubbed me the wrong way? Take a look at what I mean:

Definition: One who is a- [attraction type], and whose ability to feel love fluctuates.

Credit to @transolar for the original aro flag and @ryanyflags for the ace and atertiary flags. I changed the aqp to a gradient as usual, and I also slightly changed the colors of the analt flag.

Feaseplatonic

Reicioplatonic ( Reicioapl / Reicioaplatonic )

A platonic orientation characterized by limited or no platonic attraction / interest / activity due to emotional exhaustion from repeated rejection, or an intense fear of rejection. It is similar to, and can overlap with or be used alongside, Requiesplatonic and Friendship-drained / Plato-drained.

( One example of someone using this label would be an individual who is Aplatonic, was Plato-neutral, who is now Plato-drained due to repeated rejection. They now consider themselves Reicioapl as they’ve lost all platonic interest in and their urges for platonic activities with those individuals. )

The flag colors and their meanings are inspired by the Requies- and the Aplatonic flags ( taking the bottom stripes from this Apl flag and this alternate Apl flag. ) Following the format of the other Reicio- flags, eg. Reicioaro, Reicioace, and Reiciorose.

Gold ( Yellow ) / Cream for Aplatonicism / Being on the Aplspec, Blue for exhaustion / rest, and the Grey stripe going through the Apl apple represents the absence of platonic attraction / interest / activity.

Reiciō is a Latin word which literally means to throw or repel, but can also be used figuratively to mean to reject. It’s pronounced /ˈrei̯.ki.oː/, [ˈrɛi̯kioː].

Propeestplatonic, Propeestalterous, Propeestsensual, Propeestaquaplatonic, and Propeestqueerplatonic Alt. Flags

Propeest- : An aspec identity which feels like a mix of many (any more than two aspec identities) that all are a part of your identity. From the Latin words “prope est” (meaning close to).

In order, each aspec identity is Aplatonic, Non/Analterous, Asensual, Aquaplatonic, and Aqueerplatonic.

Using my Propeestsexual / Propeestace and Propeestromantic / Propeestaro flag layouts but for the other existing Propeest- terms (plus Aquaplatonic) with flags!

I tried to blend and darken each color on the flags to get one (or in Propeestaqp's case, two) unified color(s) for each identity.

Possible alternative names for each (in order) are Propeestapl, Propeestnonalt, Propeestnonalt, Propeestasen, Popeestaquapla, and Propeestaqp.

Alloaceapl / Alloace Aplatonic flags

Combining the Alloace flag ( specifically my sensory-friendly edit to reduce potential eyestrain ) and the first Aplatonic flag here.

The first flag maintains the layout of both flags, while the second flips the last three stripes of the Aplatonic flag to create a more unique parallel layout! In both I've intentionally centered the shared purple stripe. You can use whichever you prefer for whatever reason!

Sensory-friendly edit of the Poison Apl ( Aplatonic ) flag

Originally made by @mlp-friendship-isnt-magic, I loved this flag / term but wanted to make a version which was more compatible with my own visual disabilities when I edit with it.

Minus the original apple because I couldn't find it in high quality ( and am unsure of the license for it. )

Free to use by anyone anywhere as always!

Alt. Poison Apl ( Aplatonic ) flag and symbol

The first two flags are my sensory-friendly edit of the original Poison Apl flag with my Poison Apl symbol and the second two flags are my alternative Poison Apl flag with the same symbol.

My version of the Poison Apl symbol uses colors found in multiple Aplatonic / Aplspec flags. I kept the apple shape from the original Poison Apl flag ( because apples are a popular Apl symbol ) as well!

The placement of the colors is more for contrast than anything but I did want to include blue prominently because that's one of the most significant colors to me ( as an Aplatonic person ) and because it just looks great.

I added a skull symbol to riff off of the "poison apple" theme, many poisoned apples in fantasy having some kind of skull or death symbol on them.

The alternative flag adds a cream stripe ( taken from other Aplspec flags ) to add contrast to the middle stripe. I wanted it to really "pop out" at the viewer because it's my favorite part of the OG flag.

Here are the plain symbols for use wherever. In order these are the centered symbol and the smaller left corner symbol:

It includes explanations on what aplatonicism is, answers to commonly asked questions about aplatonicism, information for questioning potential apls, links to resources for aplatonics, and an archive of aplatonic and aplatonic-related terms and flags.

This website is a solo and ongoing project of mine. I will continue adding any and all aplspec terms and flags slowly but surely.
