Dreams on a Pillow
Hey Tumblr friends!
So if you remember, I once posted about Dreams on a Pillow for their first crowdfunding campaign two years ago, an old school adventure game about a palestinian folktale around the Nakba, directed by a West Bank, award-winning palestinian, Rasheed Abueideh.
It's about a young woman who, in the panic of the Nakba, takes hold of a pillow instead of her baby, who she mistakenly leaves behind. She tries to escape and survive in a shifting tapestry of past and present. It's about celebrating palestinian culture: both its beauty and its grief.
The game has a Steam page and is well underway, but, as you may be aware, the cost of making a game (as well as the cost of existing as a Palestinian) has severely exploded, which has led to a second crowdfunding campaign to actually complete the project.
Development of the stealth adventure game about the Nakba is underway. New game trailer headlines a final crowdfunding push for remaining bu
Two points of order:
even if the full budget isn't being hit, every last bit of money will go to the project regardless, and the game will be released eventually no matter what. So even if the campaign is indeed struggling a bit, you can still help and it will still make a world of difference.
If that means anything to the people reading: I can personally vouch for the project. I have talked with Rasheed myself several times, I'm involved with one of the organizations that supports this game, the team is very serious, and there are many veteran game professionals with decades of experience supporting this project and vouching for it as well. It's going to be a deeply beautiful, heartbreaking experience that the world really needs to see right now.
If you could share it around (and wishlist on Steam!!!), it would be amazing!! 🙏🙏🙏
