The catch: they have to pose as a married couple, and they’ve been keeping their relationship a secret from the rest of the team. Can they successfully complete their mission while keeping their real relationship under wraps? And will Fitz ever get up the courage to propose to Jemma? A sequel to Mediterranean Holiday.

Excerpt from Chapter 12:

“Now this is the way to travel,” Fitz said the next morning, standing in the middle of a platform in Budapest’s largest train station. “No security checks, no cramped seats. No being up in the air.”

“I might challenge you on that ‘no cramped seats’ bit,” Jemma replied, smiling up at him. “You know trains can be crowded. But I agree, this is nice. We’ll be able to see the scenery outside. It’s a mostly pleasant way to get from place to place.”

The ride from Budapest to Vienna wasn’t very long, only about two and a half hours, so they’d opted to travel by train this time. It was sweet, how excited Fitz was about it. And Jemma did have to admit that it reminded her of home a bit—there wasn’t much opportunity for train travel in the States, so it was nice to have the option. It would make a pleasant departure from having to slog through airport security and then hurry down the concourse to make it to their gate on time.

“Jemma, I don’t know about this.” Daisy held up a hand to the person who had just come in to show that she saw him. “Miles is going to be there.”

“Well, yes,” Jemma said. “But it will be really fun.”

“I seriously doubt that.”

“Pleaasseee?”

Daisy cringed. She hated to lie to her friend, but if it was the only way to get out of this…

“Actually I kind of have a date that day.”

“What?”

“Yeah, I was doing repairs for this really cute guy, and he asked me out. So I’ll be busy.”

She could see her customer smirking. He clearly saw through her lies.

Jemma on the other hand could not. In fact, she just made it worse. “Well, why don’t you bring him here then?” she asked. “This is a very casual get-together. It would be fun to make a new friend.”

“I…I don’t know.” Daisy was trying to think fast. “I’ll text him and get back with you.” After hanging up, Daisy turned to the man standing in front of her. “I’m so, so sorry. I don’t normally talk while customers are here, but my friend would not give up.”

“That’s fine,” he said. “I’m not in any hurry.” He explained his problem quickly to Daisy, then watched carefully as Daisy began to work. “I couldn’t help but overhear your conversation.”

“I bet you couldn’t.” Daisy started the computer up, hoping this would be a fast fix
