The last Hydrangea,
Well, not the last, by any stretch. But we do not care well for the Hydrangea we inherited; it has nettles and brambles growing through it. It's a challenge to keep a wild garden while still protecting certain plants. We did build a little border to protect it, but it needs massively cutting back from the sprawling motley mess it has become.
Merry Thursday marvellous people,
Here's an accidentally spooky looking shot of some glassware I happen to have sitting around, like a totally normal person.
The green came out looking far more spooky than intended, but I like the effect!
Good morning, folks. Here's a rare landscape for you: burned gorse with ferns. Autumn in the New Forest.
Very glad that when I got up at 6am, it was not dark! Very much looking forward to longer days and maybe, sometimes, some sunlight!
Injecting a bit of colour into the darkness.
Quaking grass (which I keep spelling as "Quacking grass", which is something more disturbing entirely)

One from last year. Tiny studio assistant taking a break from lugging massive bottles around the place.

Happy new week, hope you all had a marvellous weekend.
I started planting out my assortment of wild seeds, ornamental grasses and assorted poppies hoping to get a decent autumn/winter garden this year (planted everything far too late last year).
Here's another minimal shot of some berries I grabbed last year, which have survived in the studio surprisingly well!
One of my favourite plants is teaselly recognisable.
Sorry not sorry.
Well, the studio is full of furniture while we decorate, and my photography gear is packed up for the wedding I'm photographing at the weekend (yes, I do weddings, on occasion, message for details if you are interested), so for now I'm playing with the images I already have.
I really liked the minimalist flower stalks pic I posted yesterday so wanted to try something new with it. This is the result.
Stand out. Some of the wildflower stalks we grew last year.

It's ok to ask for some space.
I've been very overwhelmed recently. Modern life and employment brings too many demands and responsibilities and it can get to be too much sometimes.
It's important to take some time for yourself and step away from the noise, if only for a little bit.
(Christmas) Ink flower, Good morning lovely people of the internet (and beyond), a new Ink-Flower image (made using photos of ink in water I took a while back), which has a tiny hint of being seasonal as it looks a little like a snowflake. Hope you're enjoying your Christmas Eve, I'm off for a wander with TheChild then will take some daft pictures, probably involving fairy lights. xx
Flowers and rain from springtime this year. A yellow poppy from the patch that erupted from middle of our patio. We left the seed heads there and the sparrows are now enjoying them on a daily basis.
Setting sail for the weekend. Nearly there now. Some great news, we are planning on fitting the power lines up to the studio next week so we can have heat and light out there so I can make better use of it in the evenings.
Some more autumnal still life. I'm quite fond of these ones. I really enjoy the minimalism of it, which is something I struggle with, I often end up overloading an image to try and create interest. I avoid plain backgrounds and simple supports, but it works when I get over my fear of them.

Morning,
Bit of still life from last year. I completely lose track of what I've posted so apologies if I've posted this before. Desperate to do some new pieces this week but it's SO COLD here. Took a few shots in the unheated studio on Sunday night and could clearly see my breath the whole time. Time to dig out the thermals.
These are some honesty seeds we found in the garden when we moved in, I took a small sample of them but sadly no more have flowered since. I'm going to try and grow some next year. At some point I'll post at length about my weird impulse to sneak into other people's gardens to take seed heads.
I've got the key.
From one of my occasional delves into conceptual photography, which is something I'd like to spend more time doing.
