Ive been thinking about the dungeon anarchist's cookbook a lot, like the actual item in the book. and its probably not this deep but having written proof that others have tried is so important to me. Like yes indomitable human spirit and all that except theyve all felt like this. There were so many who never gave up, who tried to make them pay, who fought for justice for themselves and everyone else but carl is lucky. The narrative is so incredibly clear that carl is just stupid amounts of lucky. He came on in the right season to make shit happen, the pet biscuit didnt kill donut, he managed to pull off the first stubt with the goblins, the glass case held the bomb, borant is rushing everything, theyre being sloppy, the ai isnt developed entirely right, there are cracks in the armour that werent there in the previous seasons because if they had been someone else might have stopped this. Indomitable human spirit, except were all human even if were not human. Being different doesnt mean you didnt try just as hard, it doesnt mean youre not just as angry, it doesnt mean you couldnt have done it, and it doesnt mean you gave up, it just means the one who did it got lucky.

Imagine you’re Joyce Byers and your boyfriend died a few hours ago and you just got done exorcising a demon out of your son and you get back to your house that was already trashed but now there’s also an unconscious teenage asshole with a mullet and a needle sticking out of his neck in the middle of your living room and there’s food all over your kitchen floor because one of your son’s stupid friends put one of the monsters that killed your boyfriend in your fridge. And also you have to go and vote in like two days cause if you don’t your other son is gonna get really pissy about the fact you didn’t do anything to try and stop Reagan from getting re-elected
