Hot take but I think breaking an internet DNI is not actually that big of an issue and that you all need to take that anger and direct it elsewhere. The internet is a big wide space, curate it yourself, dont yell at others for not doing it for you.
If you don't like someone interacting on your post: block or don't engage. That is how you actually enforce a boundary. By interacting with someone who has "broken your dni" you are also breaking your own boundaries.
guy who has a mental health condition that comes and goes: i’m cured this time actually i can feel it
same guy when they start having symptoms again: what the fuck is happening and why
It really does say a lot about how romanticized and theatricized alters are online when people go into denial or feel isolated for displaying the most textbook DID/OSDD symptoms.
Not knowing who's fronting, not knowing how many alters you have, not knowing when you switch, not knowing alters' names or why they formed, alters not having names, having no internal world or a very vague one, having no internal communication, struggling with external communication, experiencing alters as different overlapping states of self instead of separate people, hell even just experiencing amnesia.
These are all extremely common symptoms of DID/OSDD, especially when you're untreated or early in treatment. And yet they're all common reasons for why people feel like they don't belong in this community, because the reality of this disorder somehow doesn't conform to the online expectation.
How bad is the state of CDD awareness, even among those who proclaim to have it, that the most common manifestations of DID/OSDD are so underdiscussed that the majority of people with these conditions cannot find understanding even in a community meant for their disorder? When anything that doesn't play into the "alters are separate people and friends in your head" narrative is ignored and erased?
Im not faking DID, I would just like to be sent the “DID faker gore” thats been sent around on plural tags

DID does not require an app to treat and manage. People did fine before Simply Plural and Octocon existed. The idea that these are necessary accessibility aids is a concept that almost exclusively exists in communities like syscord.
Accessibility aids are something that makes things more accessible for disabled people. Not just anything that is helpful for disabled people. System tracking apps are helpful, however they do not make anything more accessible.
Misusing words like this can have an extremely damaging effect on those of us who do use accessibility aids. It takes away from the importance of accessibility aids, it makes them seem like they are anything that is deemed “helpful”, rather than necessary.
As a system who uses true accessibility aids like canes, wheelchairs and screen readers at least some of the time, thank you so much!
The main tools that we use to manage and track our system are:
Obsidian
A paper notebook and a pen
the camera app on our phone and a cloud storage directory into which we save video files for each other to watch
Microsoft office, mostly word and excel
We have always felt that these apps do not give your system anything that you could not do with a notebook, a pen and a ruler.
huge if true
suchhh a relief to spend time with other insane people. yes we are fucked in the head. we are both going to make it. i love you
As more and more new apps pop up for system tracking. Be careful about what information you are putting on these apps. If it is an app that stores your information non-locally, consider if the information you are adding to profiles could be dangerous if leaked.
You’re a victim of organized abuse? Is that a good idea to share on an app that most likely isn’t secure, and is liable to data leaks?
Your parts have specific triggers that can be used against them? Could someone target you with this information?
Internet safety is something to always keep in mind, especially when you have a disorder that makes you extremely vulnerable to being hurt.

I don’t know what is feeding this year’s bloodthirst to murder political leaders, it’s a mystery.
Some of yall put way too much importance on apps like Simply Plural and Octocon. If your system completely falls apart over an app, then you need to consider how unhealthy that attachment is. If you are “always blurry” without tracking apps, well, then you might need to reconsider if you fit the diagnostic criteria when not consciously tracking things.
With all due respect, have you heard of non-possessive switching in DID, blackout dissociative amnesia, OSDD, polyfragmented/highly complex DID, P-DID, or really even looked at structural dissociation and dissociation at all?
Being blurry, not recognising, and being unable to remember alters is a main part of experiencing multiplicity, especially in disordered systems.
While it's true that somebody shouldn't have to rely on one singular app to function, it's absolutely not true that struggling to or being unable to recognise parts means you don't have parts.
We, a diagnosed traumagenic DID system, often struggle to recognise our alters, because we frequently deal with blurriness, as it's a common part of dissociation. It is literally a symptom. If we were unable to journal, write about, or log our alters, then recognising and remembering each other (and ourself) would be pretty much impossible. Because we dissociate, and have amnesia.
Not to mention chronic dissociation, constant dissociation from the body.
Healthily working through a complex dissociative disorder requires consistent conscious effort in a multitude of areas, including recognising alters. It's part of therapy.
Your post is, in all honesty, mildly ridiculous.
-Ithiel
You are putting more meaning behind my words than what I am literally saying. Of course it’s normal to experience blurriness! However, it being reliant on an app is atypical.
Yes, recognizing parts is an important part of therapy, but you don’t need an app for that. DID existed before Simply Plural, but some folks are out here acting like it didn’t.

when people are named baker or fuller or tanner or something its like HA 🫵 I KNOW WHAT YOUR GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDPA DID 🫵🫵
I dont care if im "being mean" or whatever the fuck about simply plural and octocon being shut down. systems are being left without aids that help them track and manage dissociation and keep them from losing years worth of information and memories all because some dumb fucks dont know how to properly manage their fucking projects. we are being robbed of our functionality because of someone else's incompetence. every single system has a right to be fucking mad about this.
System management is easily done without these apps. It is irrational to download an indie app and then attack the devs when it is inevitably shut down. It would be one thing if you couldn’t retrieve your data, but it’s a relatively easy process. You aren’t owed anything from these PEOPLE who have invested countless hours into making a free to access tracking app. It’s frankly ridiculous to expect that they keep making sacrifices in their personal life to run an app that barely even makes enough to break even.
