So the thing is boobs really do be jiggling. If having breasts has taught me anything it is that the ladies frolic. Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
there's a lot of talk about reading comprehension and one thing i think is the biggest barrier to people on this site getting better at it is simply... rushing. rushing to share something you haven't understood, rushing to have an opinion without taking the time to think about it, rushing to declare that you don't understand something

the thing is. this is what i would call an inside thought. nobody would have known you didn't get it if you didn't tell them that. if you recognised that it was important but didn't have the headspace to process it, you can reblog without commentary for others, or to come back to later. or you can save it somewhere and wait until you DO have the capacity to read it over a few more times, ponder it, consider what it might mean, figure out how to understand it, and THEN reblog it
but no. rushing to reblog while it is still opaque. rushing to admit to ignorance rather than spend the time to achieve understanding. perhaps hoping that somebody will break it down for you more simply, though to my mind it was quite simply phrased in the first place. never stopping to take the time first
comprehension is not always instant! sometimes it takes a bit of time for something to percolate after you read it; sometimes you need to read it a few times; sometimes you realise you don't have the context for it and either go and get the context or accept that it's not for you right now
please just simply slow down. you don't always have to respond to everything within a second or two. it is okay if it is not an instantaneous understanding. we all need to get more comfortable with thinking more slowly and more deeply and more carefully, and not letting our instant split second responses drive us all the time, because they are a barrier to genuine reflection

This is actually such a crucial part of healing from neglect and abuse and I have to add to this.
Because indeed, people who like you will not roll their eyes and sigh at the idea of accommodating your needs, they will value your voice and be upset with you about injustice done to you, not at you for "being difficult". They will be happy when you find a way to live a better life, and help you to get there. If you are struggling, someone who loves you wants to see you smile, not tell you to smile because "you have it so good".

Day 1-2: Slide clasp
This is a popular clasp I've seen around and recently I've been using it a lot more because it's a lot easier to put on than fiddling with a button with one hand. Essentially a bracelet band can be widened without breaking the loop:
This relies on a square knot's ability to slide along its base cords.
It's mainly used in bracelets because you would need an awkwardly long sliding cord for necklaces or anklets. It takes a lot less extension to get over a hand than say, a head.
Here's how to make it:
^The slide clasp starter
A) Place a bead or some kind of bulky knot at the end so the slide clasp can't get pulled out completely.
(ngl I carefully drew the bead attached with a lark's head knot like an idiot but in practice if you followed the picture the bead would come right off. Don't. Don't do that. Loop the bead on the cord and secure it with an overhand knot.)
B) Leave a section of base cord blank. Make it slightly longer than you want the cord to be able to slide. 3in. is a good length, not including cord for holding the bead.
C) Start your project with a square knot starter, no overhand knot.
D) Build the bracelet/project to almost the final length. Don't count sections A and B in the bracelet length.

Finishing the slide clasp:
^When you get about half an inch to the end length of your project use an overhand knot to secure the base cords only.
Line the starter up to cover the ending's overhand knot and continue the bracelet without any gaps:
A sequence of 3 or 4 square knots works fine.
^The result should look like this.
A) The base cord's overhand knot is hidden beneath the sliding cord.
B) The outer cord is secured by an overhand knot also hidden beneath the sliding cord. Do not include the sliding cord in the overhand knots. This allows the cords to slide within the square knot sequence.

Two-sided slide clasp:
I personally prefer a single slider but most sliding clasps I've seen other people make have two sliding cords held together by a short independent square knot sequence. It looks like this:
It's good if your style is to start in the middle of a bracelet and work outwards twice, giving you two bracelet endings and no 'start.' This isn't really my style but it's good to mention.
^Sections A and B are the ends of the same bracelet. Overhand knots made more obvious. Section C is a short square knot sequence made from a new cord, not repurposed from the bracelet.
((Also,,, I am straight-up SQUINTING at my past self. Another mistake- there is one cord folded over used to make the outer cords in section C and there shouldn't be 4 strings coming out of its ending overhand knot.))

horror is an incredibly diverse genre, because there is potential horror in everything. itâs in nature, itâs in architecture and technology, itâs in human relationships, itâs in folklore, the past, the future, the mundane. there are horror movies from all over the world. it is straight up anti-intellectual to pretend that the handful of B slashers youâve vaguely heard about comprise the totality of what horror has to offer. If youâre just not interested in horror, or if you dislike certain subgenres of horror, then thatâs fine, youâre not obligated to like anything at all. but smugly announcing that you donât like horror because you dislike a handful of VERY specific non-universal tropes is just as stupid as saying that you hate comedy because you donât like adam sandler movies.

the thing about being "good with kids" is all it takes is literally just not trying to control and mould them with every interaction. it's just being a normal person and engaging with them through normal interactions like having conversations and playing games. it's just being genuine and friendly and not perceiving them as lumps of wet clay you are there to shape. "oh you're so good with kids" thanks it's because I think they are people
