❓Summer of Bones? Papyly? Sansgust? What??? Summer of Bones is the name for the combined events of Papyly and Sansgust, so all the information can be found in a single place instead of having to check out different accounts. Papyly is a Papyrus-centric event taking place in July, where participants pick writing prompts to complete a bingo card. While we no longer host a raffle at the end of the event, complete enough bingos with your fellow participants and you'll reveal a special secret!! Sansgust is basically the same event as Papyly, but centered around Sans and taking place later. Check out our About page here! 👉😎💀😎

❓What kind of prompts are there? We have over 100 prompts in total and there is enough variation that all the participants should find one they’ll enjoy writing for. Some are fluffy, other naughty, and we also have angsty ones. Popular tropes, a single word, detailed or very broad, we can assure you that you will get inspired!!!

❓Which ships are allowed? What if I’m not interested in any ship? For Papyly: Papcest, Papyrus/Reader, Papyrus/OC, solo Papyrus, or Papyrus’ platonic relationship with his friends. The focus of the fic should be Papyrus. For Sansgust: Sanscest, Sans/Reader, Sans/OC, solo Sans, or Sans’ platonic relationship with his friends. The focus of the fic should be Sans. AU versions of Papyrus and Sans are more than welcome!!

❓So no fontcest? No Sansby? Papgore? There are other events and ship weeks dedicated to or that allow other popular ships (fontcest, Papby, Sanster, etc…), and we would like this event to focus on showing love to the allowed ships mentioned above, so not this time, no!

❓If the event is 18+, does that mean that I must write NSFW content? Absolutely not! The event is 18+ because we mods aren’t comfortable hosting an event with minors present, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t enjoy gen or SFW fics! So you can write SFW, NSFW, or even dark and Dead Dove Do Not Eat fics during the event! Whatever the rating you choose to write for, just remember to tag everything accordingly!

❓I’m not good with words and I don’t write, can I still join the event? Unfortunately, the discord server will only be open to participants at this time, but feel free to follow our accounts to get updates and see reblogs of the participants’ works! We also have 2 dedicated AO3 collections for both Papyly and Sansgust, so you will be able to easily find the fics written for the event, as well as past entries! This year we will be posting the 100+ prompts on social media so that even non-participants can have a crack at the prompts, no matter what format they choose!

❓What do you mean by ‘bingo card’? NEW!!! Our new rules allow participants to customize (to some extent) their own bingo card with their favorite prompts from our list. Write enough prompts and clear your bingo card to reveal a surprise! Learn more about it in our discord server.

❓Weren't there tickets and a raffle before? What happened to those? This year, we will not be working with a ticket system, and as such there will be no raffle at the end of the event. Instead, we have a different reward system we hope you will love! But it is still a secret! 🤫

❓Who’s in charge of the event? At the moment, our team consists of 5 mods: Cognito, LB, MsMK, Anjel and Meatus. Find more about our mods here! 👉🫶

❓When you say that you are going to ID check participants, what does that entail? Do we have to send an ID somewhere? I don’t really want to show my face… ID checking participants means that a mod will look at an official, valid ID to check if the participant is indeed 18+. The ID can be a state identification card, passport, driver’s license, etc… anything that shows a date of birth. Any other sensible information (face, name, address, etc…) can be blurred or hidden, and once the mod has checked your ID, you’ll be allowed to delete the picture from the convo on discord. All ID checking will be done through DMs with a mod (don’t be afraid to request to be ID checked by a specific mod that you are comfortable with!), NOT in the event’s server. You do not need to get IDed again if you have already done so for another 18+ server/event a mod is in (previous Papyly/Sansgust events, the Gyftmas event, any zine that mod Cognito was a part of, etc…)

After 3 long years, the Papyly and Sansgust events are finally back… with a TWIST!

We've come up with an entirely new set of rules for the event allowing you to ✨customize✨ your own bingo card with your favorite prompts, so we hope you'll have fun playing this game with us!

But first things first! For anyone new, Papyly is, as its name suggests, a Papyrus-centric writing event that takes place in July. It focuses on Papcest, Papyrus/Reader, solo Papyrus and Papyrus/OC. The main goal is to pick the provided prompts to complete a bingo card. Clear enough prompts and a secret will be revealed! But shush, that's a surprised for the participants only! 🤫 The event will run from July 1st to July 31st, and is strictly 18+, but we accept both SFW and NSFW content. To participate in the event, you'll have to join the discord server and provide proof that you are 18+, however this time we will be releasing all 100+ prompts into the wild so anyone can have fun with them! Whether you challenge yourself in our event or just chill and relax with the prompts is up to you!

The Sansgust event is its equivalent, but centered around Sans. More info about the event to come later in July.

I'm coming to you this morning with a request...

My metamour, my very best good friend, @freshiegayboi needs some help. They have a very fixed income every single month and this month has unfortunately hit a few snags with their bills, leaving them with only $1 in their bank account for the rest of this month.

Now, obviously this isn't enough to get by on, and I just paid a $2,000 bill for Percy's medical expenses before he passed away, so I'm a bit strapped for funds myself, or else I would just send the money myself.

So, I'm sitting here thinking of what I can do to help, and I've come to the conclusion that what I can do is ask you all for help with raising what Freshie needs.

But I'm not asking you to donate for free!

Freshie is currently asking for $55 for help with their internet bill and gas to reach medical appointments. If all of you amazing, wonderful beings out there can help by sending what you can and reach that goal...

I will post the first chapter on Ao3 of Just My Luck, the Underfell Sans x Soulmate story, that I've kept in my back pocket.

My personal goal is to try and make fanfic binding as accessible to everyone as possible, so here are some resources on how to make a fanfic hardcover for under $25.

This is a barebones bind for the broke college students and such. Happy to field questions, too!

Here's a proposed budget breakdown:

Loosely organized thoughts:

Fanfic bookbinders often share typesets amongst each other. Never pay for a typeset for a fanfic. (A typeset is shorthand in fic binding circles for a fanfic that has been formatted/designed and paginated like a book, to be printed out.)

You'll hear a lot about grain direction for your printer paper, but as a newbie on a budget without your own printer, settle for some nice 92 bright or cream colored paper. If you like the hobby, splurge after but expect to pay at least 2-3x more for short grain paper.

Printing is a pain because some copy shops won't let you print intellectual property smut, and it's very expensive. You are better off bartering instead or looking for a free printer on Buy Nothing.

You know the thick paper wrapping that comes with online orders? It's a good weight for endpapers if you need to scrounge. Paper grocery bags or gift bags (birthday presents) might work, too.

Ask your local library to give you covers from books they are throwing out. Ask for outdated textbooks (those covers are built like tanks) or three-ring binders that are too busted to be binders anymore.

Obtain a used book that was mass produced (so your destruction of it does not impede anyone's access) and maybe even become a little vindictive with it.

If you can afford it, I recommend the Olfa SVR knife (~$10)

If you can afford it, upgrade your ruler to a t-square.

I really hope this resource is helpful! I want to stress how possible this is and encourage people to cherish what they love through art.
