I know that it probably wonāt get super far here but... to those who I became friends with on tumblr 3-4 years ago... Iām sorry and you were all right. And I was so stupid.
A letter to a younger me
Be aware of how people treat you
WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT
YOU COULD BE A FUCKING BADASS DRAGON THATāS THE POINT
āI AM A CREATURE OF DARKNESSā āoh hey sabrina.ā
I guess the point is that you could shapeshift into the body you always thought youād grow into when you were a kid
taller, shorter, slimmer, more muscular, purple hair, tattoos everywhere, tattoos nowhere,Ā
every single shoe would fit you every single time you tried it on, every single article of clothing would fit your perfectly, all you have to do is transform slightly, youād never run out of āyour sizeā again
and you wouldnāt have to work for it at all, and youād never be limitted by your bone structure or something. You could just transform at will.
I donāt see how this is much of a downside
When you turn into a sixty story tentacle demon and terrorize a city you want to get the credit you deserve
Oh man that would be so sweet. I could be an annoying fuck as an insect or something but you couldnāt kill me becauseĀ everyone would know
Thatās great but have you considered

imagine being at work minding your business and then suddenly you look out the window and see like a 50ft tall flamingo and then someone just says āoh, yeah, thatās just pete, he does this sometimes, donāt worryā
āBRB, gonna be a cat-sized dragon for a few hours. Might come home a foot taller with mood tattoos.ā
āDonāt antagonize the fae.ā
āI AM the fae, Susan.ā
Also, considerā people will know itās you, but it doesnāt say theyāll know what you are. āSo is Pete a 50 foot flamingo who changes into a man, or the other way around?ā āWe.. we donāt know. Barbara asked him once, but he just grinned. She said they werenāt the teeth of a human OR flamingo and she didnāt want to talk about it.ā
@dovewithscales
Yeah not much of a down side. I wouldnāt do it to hide my identity. Iād do it to be a fucking dragon.
when are we as a society going to stop romanticizing serial killers and start romanticizing art heists? there is no crime sexier than an art crime try to convince me otherwise. you wonāt.

And as the waves of depression hit you, remember that you have, and will, swim back to the top
Today Iām going to talk about the opposite of child abuse, because you all need some proper references to compare your lives to.
First thing that made me realize how upside down my life was, was a friend, who had an abusive father, but good mother. And you see, because the mother was good, she realized when her kids were still small, that heās abusive, that the kids would get hurt, and she moved the hell away from him and got a divorce. She was poor, she didnāt have many resources, and she had to work very hard to survive, and managed to get the abuser to pay alimony. My friend grew up surrounded by love and support, with high self-confidence, high social abilities, complete belief in their Ā worth and lacking nothing. And then one day the abusive father was angry at the mom, and tried to take it out on my friend, my friend got a call filled with insults and threats. It was scary and my friend got upset, I tried to comfort them but I really didnāt have good words to say. They later called their mom, and this is what the mother said:
āYou are a perfect person, if anyone is talking to you like this, you can walk away.ā
I remember just feeling complete awe hearing this, told from a mom, to a child. It even cheered me up. Those are the words we should have been getting from our parents. This is the correct attitude.
This other example is something that made me cry, and everyone else Iāve told this story. Itās from a woman on youtube, who has a farm, and it was her dream her whole life to have a farm, and she also has kids. This year, she entered a competition in growing tomatoes, she grew a special tomato plant, and the competition was about who manages to grow the most tomatoes, biggest tomato, and so on. She usually lets her kids play in the garden, but she explained to all of them that theyāre not allowed to touch the special competition plant, or harvest the tomatoes.
However, her youngest son, aged maybe 5 or 6, took the biggest tomato off, before it even started ripening. She made a video explaining about what happened, and then she smiled and talked about how she cares about her farm, and her competition a lot, but not even close to how much she cares about her children feeling happy and safe in the garden. She said, even though she warned the kids to not touch the plant, itās kind of hard to remember for a child which plant is what, and that in long term, competition doesnāt really matter as much as happiness of her children. She even mentioned how she makes mistakes in the garden too, and forgives herself right away, and her children deserve the same forgiveness. And then, her son, laughing, runs up to her, and realizes sheās making a video on tomato he tore off, and he says with a grinĀ āIām sorryā and she replies, with warmth and affection in her voice:Ā āI forgive you, my darling.ā
If youāre, crying, itās okay, Iām crying too. So here, some standards. Something to compare your parents to. If these people could have done this, your parents could have done it too. You deserved this kind of gentleness and kindness too.
troubled ghost hunters
Over these last few days Iāve come to a conclusion for myself
I can either let the world and those around me fuck me over and I can be a depressed bitch about it.
Or I can use those emotions and focus it over to my work and get further and become something
I think Iām starting to get back on the right track now

Informative Ancient Egypt Comics:Ā BROS
Our 1stĀ place contest winner requested a Niankhkhnum and KhnumhotepĀ comic as their prize.
I took a class about Ancient Egypt last semester and we had a whole lecture dedicated to talking about how gay Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep were. Their tomb walls were decorated with scenes of them ignoring their wives in favor of embracing each other. In one scene, the couple is seated at a banquet table that is usually reserved for a husband and wife. Thereās an entire motif of Khnumhotep holding lotus flowers which in ancient Egyptian tradition symbolizes femininity. Khnumhotep offers the lotus flower to Niankhkhnum, something that only wives were ever depicted as doing for their husbands. In fact, Khnumhotep is repeatedly depicted as uniquely feminine, being shown smaller and shorter than his partner Niankhkhnum and being placed in the role of a woman. Size is a big deal in Egyptian art, husbands are almost always shown as being larger and taller than their wives. So for two men of equal status to be shown in once again, a marital fashion, is pretty telling. Not to mention they were literally buried together which is the strongest bond two people could share in ancient Egypt, as it would mean sharing the journey to the afterlife together. And yet 90% of the academic text about these two talks about these clues in vague terms and analyze the great ābrotherhoodā they shared, and the enigma of Khnumhotep being depicted as feminine. Apparently itās too hard for archaeologists to accept homosexuality in the ancient world, as well as the possibility of trans individuals.
On the last note, I was walking around the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago and there is a mummy on exhibit. It caught my attention because the panel that was describing it was talking about how it was a womanās body in a male coffin and wow, the Egyptian working that day really screwed that up. My summary, not actual words, sorry I canāt remember verbatim but it basically said that someone screwed up.
They claimed that the Egyptians screwed up a burial.
The Egyptians. Screwed up. A burial.
Now Iām not an expert in Ancient Egypt but from what I know, and what the exhibit was telling me, burials and the afterlife and all that jazz DEFINED the Egyptian religion and culture. They donāt justĀ āscrew upā. So instead of thinking outside the box for two seconds and wonder why else a genetically female body was in a male coffin, theĀ āresearchersā blatantly disregard the rest of their research and decided to call it a screw up. Instead of, you know, admitting that maybe this mummy presented as male during his life and was therefore honorably buried as he was identified. But it would be too much of a stretch to admit that a transgender person could have existed back then.
(Sorry I canāt find any sources online and itās been like 2 years but it stuck in my mind)
Thereās a lot of bigoted historian dragging on my dash these days and it makes me happy.
Once again, more proof that we queers have ALWAYS been here, and itās a CHOSEN narrative to erase them.
Reblog because ancient gay power

I would marry this man
guys we broke another post because this oneās not showing any notes
When I liked it, it flashed ā0 notesā
āif somebody becomes panicked when you accuse them of lying theyre obviously not telling the truthā shut up ugly im a survivor who got punished for shit i never did all the time of fucking course im gonna panic when im blamed for something i didnt do
since this post is actually getting attention rn i really want to emphasize this-
many of theĀ ātellsā of lying are traits commonly found in abuse survivors and mentally ill/disabled people.
stuttering, averting eye contact, panicking, raising your volume, fidgeting, and other similar traits are actions performed commonly by these groups, especially in situations of heavy stress- such as being accused of doing something we didnt do, especially if we are afraid of being punished for doing nothing.
im honestly begging people to think critically when accusing somebody of lying for small traits like these.
