@everything-you-feel-is-real I know by tumblr tradition that I'm to say "impossible, my posts never blow up like that," or "please don't do this to me."

I feel like there’s so much potential:

-Trainer comforts Whumpee afterwards, telling them what a good job they did and rewarding them somehow

-Trainer hates their job but knows it’ll help Whumpee in the long run

-Whumpee constantly having to remind themselves “it’s not real it’s just a drill it’s almost done” to stay sane during it

-Whumpee becoming afraid of Trainer accidentally, even when they know it’s not their fault and they’re really just helping them

-Trainer going just a bit too far…on purpose…but they’d never tell Whumpee that

-Whumper being surprised when Whumpee barely flinches at any of their tactics due to their preparation

(personally I imagined screaming but that's just my flavour)

"You knew the rules, though..."

"And yet, you don't sound sorry! If you're gonna apologize, don't just say sorry!"

"No, you're done talking. You don't deserve it anymore."

"Give. Me. Your. Hands."

Becoming quiet when asked, sitting still, eating and speaking as told to

When Whumpee convinces themselves that they love Whumper and it's for the best

Whumpers who let their Whumpee do anything after begging

“Escape? From what? Everything I need is right here.”

Cooking, cleaning or fulfilling other tasks without being asked

When Whumper feeds into Whumpee’s delusion that they are fine

“You’re safe with me, right? Because you trust me.” “Of course I do.”

Caretaker who tries to explain to Whumpee that they aren’t safe but Whumper acts so innocent and gentle that it makes Caretaker look bad

Whumpees who deny they were kidnapped or forget that part completely

Not being able to remember how life was like without Whumper

“Please, I need you.” “Oh, goodness. I know you do, I know…”

Whumper telling Whumpee false stories and using those times as a reason to ask for favours

Purposely making Whumpee fall sick constantly just to revive them again and overtime Whumpee becomes reliant on them

“Sorry… for always… being a burden…” “You know only I care about you, Whumpee.”

Whumpee feeling more sympathetic for Whumper when they share their (probably fake) backstory with them to get an emotional reaction

Not being able to sleep without Whumper near them

“You’re acting unusual. Less… fighting, more submitting”

Holding, gripping or touching Whumper so they know they aren’t alone

When Whumpee’s Stockholm Syndrome is so bad it gives Whumper Lima Syndrome

Neither Whumpee or Whumper lookout for reports on the news anymore

“You don’t believe a word they say?” “Not even for a minute.” “You must really like my company then, huh?”

Waking up with nightmares of what happened in the past and then being unable to recall what it was about

Forcing Whumpee to become compliant on the notion that somebody else’s life is at risk

Whumpee faking Stockholm syndrome and feeling disgusted at everything they say or do

^^^ Whumper catching them faking it!

^^^ Instead of confronting them they just make Whumpee do a lot of things to humiliate them until they really do give in

Team begin to suspect Whumpee is a traitor, a double agent. They stop listening to Whumpee's advice and suggestions during meetings because they think Whumpee is trying to trick them into one of Whumper's traps.

Now imagine the look on the Team's faces when they're captured because they didn't take the precautions Whumpee told them to.

Imagine the look on their faces when Whumper walks past all of them and goes straight to Whumpee because "It's so good to have you back, darling. I've missed you."

"you're too weak to fight." (implied "in your state" but taken as "you're not good enough")

"it's not surprising that you'd react like this" (intended "anyone in your position would be devastated by this" but taken as "you're so predictably sensitive")

"you need to stay here. you're just going to slow the team down." (meant as "you're too ill/injured to come on this mission" but taken as "you're a burden")

"I'm not quite sure you realise what is at stake here," Whumper said, casually brushing a hand over the metal tools on the tray in front of him. He tipped lightly at one of the handles with his little finger, straightening them into a neat line, as one would with a line of pencils or cutlery.

"My life," Whumpee whispered. Their voice was soft but determined. Their eyes lingered over Whumper's hand and the tools at his fingertips that looked like something a dentist would use.

"Yes, your life. But not just in the way you think. Sure, you may lose it. I might slip. You could fall at just the wrong angle or bang your head. But I won't pierce your heart or put a bullet in your head."

Satisfied with his array of tools, Whumper stepped closer to Whumpee, bound in a chair, and loomed over them.

"I mean your life in the broader sense," he continued. "This will follow you-- haunt you for the rest of your life. In the form of trauma, memories, regrets, nightmares. Scars or injuries that, if you're lucky, won't hurt or won't cripple you in some way. But that will linger on your body and in your mind, keeping you up at night. Making you lash out, or grow numb, causing you to lose yourself and the people you care about. The way you regard them and how they will see you, will change forever."

He let a long silence linger in the air, giving Whumpee time to process everything he just said.
