The ugly truth: After Uni
You just graduated, youβre full of hopes and dreams. You feel like you can conquer the world, own it! Youβre invincible. Thereβs millions of opportunities to grab, to get a hold of. Youβre positive youβll land a job immediately, be successful. And after 5 years youβll have your own car, your own house beside the beach, travel the world, enjoying life to the fullest. Ahhh, how nice would that be?
A month after your graduation. Youβre going out, staying out till the wee hours of the night, sleeping in, no care about the world. You know you deserve it. Youβve been studying your butt off for 4 years, you deserve to relax and enjoy the things you were not able to do when you were still in school. You set aside your job hunting, you can get back to it after your relaxation you say, Iβll land a job easy you say. Nice isnβt it?
A couple of months after. Youβve gotten so fat your clothes donβt fit anymore. Youβre broke. Youβre jobless. You say youβre going to look for a job. You want to help out your mom whoβs still struggling to make ends meet because you still have two siblings in high school. You realise that youβve been a complete idiot and a selfish b**ch. Youβre disappointed because they declined your job application. Youβre pressured because all your friends have their own jobs and youβre just here moping around thinking your life suck eggs.Β
4 months into your unemployed life. Youβre still here writing low quality blogs, stress eating, lying around your apartment, scrolling through your social media account, liking your friendsβ awesome lives, envying them because they received their first pay check and living life to the fullest. You now have ground-low self confidence, you donβt think youβre that great anymore, your βmillionβ opportunities are next to none, youβre this close to giving up on your dreams. Not so nice now is it?Β
