a quick succession of busy nothings

the question Inception asks is "what would you risk it all for?". the question Interstellar asks is "what would you live for?" and the question Tenet asks is "what would you die for?". and the answer to all three is love.

one of my core life philosophies is the seasonal side quest. last winter? chess club. last summer? local radio producer. this fall? film festival bts. the reason why is that you meet people in person (shyness-approved exposure therapy), you find yourself in unfamiliar fields (good for the learning ego) and you come out of it with such a beautiful and inexplicable deck of cards up your sleeve (work in progress lore)! strongly recommend and the more unlike you the better. who knows maybe you come out of it with a lover, a career, or even just stories about a chapter in this adventure called life.

I really need to sit and read long novels with complicated words that I don’t yet know and go back to language class and get my driver’s license in Italy and develop a routine outside of work and visit people for coffee and company and I need to watch films that are slow and crawling and demand all of me and stop with fucking YouTube shorts because my soul is dying
