“Do it scared” “do it alone” are all great tips, but my biggest takeaway from therapy is do it messy. This is especially true if you’re getting out of a burnout, which I experience often. Literally just do it messy. You don’t need to pick the perfect trail to walk, the perfect playlist to listen to, whatever the fuck it is. You don’t need to have a meticulous to do list and wake up at the exact time you planned and drink the exact amount of water you planned to drink. Like the biggest thing for people like me to remember is sometimes it’s okay to do it messy. Put on a random yt workout and just get it done in sweats. Do 5 minutes of a daunting task and go from there. Sometimes just getting up is a win during intense burnouts or depressive funks. Literally just do it messy.

I kind of miss the impulsivity that certain spaces used to allow. oh you want a hair cut today? hairdresser in the corner can fit you in before her 2 o’clock. tattoo of a cobra… sure leg or arm? even concerts, back when you could go to the box office thirty mins before any show. not saying these things don’t exist at all, but everything feels booked five months in advance and 10x more expensive

You don’t get it she saw in her mind fairy lights through the mist she kept calm and carried the weight of the rift and pulled him in tighter each time he was drifting away

The mental toll and exhaustion she must of felt splitting herself in all of these directions trying to make herself a ‘better’ partner thinking it was her fault everytime he pulled away so she worked twice as hard to be what he wanted her to be instead of being herself believing it would pay off in the end and they would have a twinkling fairytale ending

watching ariana grande, beyoncé, taylor swift, etc. putting together hours long shows with full choreography and 15 costume changes and dozens of songs from their 15-25 year long careers and overarching theatrical concepts and touring for months on end and still receiving hate for not putting in enough effort while male musicians can stand on a blank stage in sweats and a t-shirt and lip-sync five songs while pacing up and down the stage and be praised pisses me off in a way i cannot articulate
