Mike wheeler now we’re both closeted

Like it fits Mike's POV post Season 4 so well:

I had all (pre season 1) and then most (season 2) of you Some (season 3 & 4) and now none of you (after season 4)

Will: It can be hard to open up to someone and show them who you really are. What if they don't like the truth?

Mike: (nods sadly in understanding)

The hell was this about? The truth was apparently that Mike did love El, something she very much did want to hear. She explicitly told him that and all but begged him to say it.

How was this not Mike struggling to tell El that he didn't actually love her because he was afraid of hurting her and being unable to say he loved her because it was a lie?

Mike's side of the conversation makes zero sense. I guess it was solely meant to hint as to his own secret, but then why present it as advice for Mike?

you don’t say that to marginalised cis guys, do you?

you don’t say that to cis guys mid/post-puberty, do you?

“always making it about their ‘afab anatomy’, always talking about their uteruses and vaginas”

you don’t say that to a cis guy who’s experiencing hardship due to his anatomy, do you?

“trans men get so upset when they’re treated as men”
