I’m thankful Thanksgiving is coming to an end, not only because the Pierce’s - while blessed with beautiful genetics - turned into total sentimental messes after two bottles of champagne, but also because there are more important things to be talking about. My Aunt gave me a thirty three minute lecture on my ‘severe attitude problem’, and if it’s taught me one thing, it’s…who am I kidding? Spill the tea. What’d I miss since being out of town? Anyone who gives me any juicy gossip wins a framed photograph of moi eating pears under a Christmas tree. We stan a #generousqueen. 

I missed you! You know I’d never say no to a photograph of you. I’ve got to ask, though: why were you eating pears under a Christmas tree?

I will admit, as much as I like to complain that people start to decorate for these fall and winter holidays way too early - I do enjoy a nice set of outdoor decorations. Today I passed by a house that had some of those hanging icicle lights among other small tasteful decorations set up and it looks beautiful. Almost makes me want to start laying out my decoration schemes myself - almost. 

You should! Decorating is fun. Especially decorating for Christmas. 

I feel like everyone should have prepared scripts for dinner because it’s the same kind of thing every single year. Maybe next year we should boycott and just have friendsgiving. I’m definitely not doing any cooking, though.

It really is. I just keep hoping every single year that my family will finally understand that I’m not planning on becoming a doctor and marrying a woman, but it seems like that’s too much to ask. But we both survived! That’s what matters. You know, I actually thought of throwing a friendsgiving party this year, but there were so many parties going on already that I decided not to. But we should totally have one next year! I don’t mind doing the cooking! Well... maybe not all of it.

Baked my first loaf of bread today. Honestly? Not really edible. But, I didn’t burn the house down like our chef, Henrietta, worried that I would. So, that’s a plus. For the holidays, I’m gonna bake everybody something since I’m bad at gift giving. What do y’all want? Chocolate chip cookies? Sugar cookies? Other really simple cookies? I’m on it.

I’m proud of you for not burning down the house! That’s the first step of successful baking, after all. Are Christmas cookies an option? If you ever need a baking buddy, please let me know.

I see that you made it out alive at least. That has to count for something. Did you survive all the girlfriend and college questions or are you still permanently scarred from them?

I’m still slightly scarred, but I’m getting there. All these parties helped. How was your Thanksgiving? 

Congratulations to the happy couple. This was definitely a night to remember. Certainly puts the night I bailed out to shame that’s for sure. How about we move the after party to a less dreadful place, yeah?
