Here we are!! This is admittedly a shorter post to not clog it up too much, and also a fair warning since tumblr tends to hide away posts with specific words they dont like. So in this if it doesnt like the ah,, content here I may have to repost this HAHA
If you'd like to ask me how I imagine her, I see her as somewhat similar to Medic but in,, different fonts? There's some similarities but enough differences in their thinking and preferences that distinguish them. But I see handmaiden to be incredibly ferocious and easily holds a grudge!
Presently she's similar to Medic where her role's been changed to be A Handmaiden now. She likely words under a lord, a lady, a count, a duke, a duchess, whatever you desire! But to be clear she doesn't like them, and isn't fond of her work. I like to imagine if the lord/lady annoys her on a bad day she lightly poisons their tea or food and let faith take its course. (Not that the lord/lady dies!! But theyre gonna have the worst sickness ever yk?)
For her former bounty hunter days I like to imagine she had to swipe and steal for her current disguise, the dress she has on? Stolen from the Earl's wife! Her earrings? Taken from the corpse of a wealthy merchant!! I like to imagine in general any target she kills, she likely steals from - Considering they'll be disposed and removed at the end of the day.
My lore for the bounty hunters are quite specific, but I'll let you handle on the reigns on this one!! But to give an idea, I like to think Crownus had the bounty hunters kill humans AND puppets. And like the Medic, despite her formal appearance, she likely doesn't have much and lives poorly. Having to get her own scraps, that sort!
When you align and work as a bounty hunter you'll have to claw for every single thing you get, and have to be very tenacious considering who you'll be competing with. To put it simply: Bounty hunters dont like each other. This is most likely encouraged by Crownus to remove the possibility of team ups and further isolate each hunter.
And as a bounty hunter, you likely lived in the dark. Not many puppets will see you if ever. But thats your choice for the handmaiden!! I wont lie to you she likely gets very bloodied easily, (WHITE is a very stainable color) so she cycles through garments easily. I think the reason she'd be so blood stain free in the pictures I Show of her is because she cleans herself very often. You don't exactly look trustable when you're stained with blood and all!!
I also think aside from Crownus, she worked for other nobles within the aristocracy to take bounties. You'd like Lord Lennon's head on a plate? duly noted, my Baron! I think the reason this went pass Crownus' nose easily is because he himself didn't mind it, likely due to the fact it would cause unravel and distrust amongst the nobility, thus making them rely on their king more with the mindset of "Surely being on the kings good side means he'll protect me from any political assassinations!!!!"

LIKE full on brings it up to every person she knows, not out of actual pride and bragging but moreso as a joke and wanting to poke at her friends like WOAH "Guess who's gonna have tea with the ahem, QUEEN later" "the QUEEN did I mention that we're gonna have tea? Me? With the QUEEN?" she says with bright wonderous eyes at the seer after mentioning it the infininth time. Kidding she wouldn't repeat it that much, just enough you're like "WE GET IT" and she giggles like the troublemaker she is.
Oh she'd be so chatty, so gleeful so happiful so whimsical in her majesty's presence. Because, I mean. ITS THE QUEEN!!! she's everything and anything all at once and I fear it may overwhelm Amelia at first but hopefully not </3 I do say Clara's quite upbeat and bright but not all too in your face, but you can see she's the kind of person thats on her feet and doing something with her hands.
GUH I wont lie I got flashbacks drawing this because it reminded me of Navier and Rashta from the remarried empress and we all know how that went </3 And frankly Im so scared to tell you it isn't too far but that'll be explained further down
Clara would so gush and fawn over her majesty, speaking of her beauty and her extravagant red. Red's such a striking color, GASP your majesty she didn't bring a gift she's so sorry ToT!!! I won't lie to you she is a bit nervous since in the kingdom, the Damselette is a role belonging to the townfolk so she isn't too knowledgable of royal customs. She'd be a bit nervous on how she presents herself to her majesty, but I like to think her effort is endearing.
Dresses extra nicely, it's not her finest dress but surely she hopes to look modest. I like to think Clara's a lovely chatter that easily carries conversation, and knows how to listen as well. While those around her worry and fret that she'd say something that could offend the queen, Amelia actually has Clara's undivided attention.
Even if its a topic she's not well versed in, she listens with a keen ear nodding to every word Amelia says with focused, bright eyes. Never let someone call you HKLP? Why? 'Holds knife like pen?' WOAHHH!!! that's crazy!!! thats an actual thing among you folks?
I imagine the townspuppets dont exactly know or hear much of from puppets coming from nobility since both archetypes are sort of,, seperated to a degree. So to Clara, she's curious about everything. Oh she'd love to be Amelia's best friend, but wouldn't force it. (nervous again since it's the QUEEN!!! WOAHH the QUEEN!!!!)
Believe me when I say as well she'd also love to talk about everything to Amelia, and probably would! Clara tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, for Clara, she doesn't mind being openly trusting - To her, if she does get hurt, then that's her fault. And that's fine. She often sees good in many people, and would trust Amelia even before their first meeting.
Now, here's where I start to get concerned and where I realized it might not end well
Ah, I'll put this point blank. The reason Clara turned out the way she did, is because Crownus would court her at one point in the days where the Theatre still thrived. And it was an open fact among the public and viewers. Both in the stage play and behind the curtain the two have become close, (Moreso it was Crownus that approached her and Clara followed along.)
SO IMAGINE WHEN I PUT THIS TOGETHER BECAUSE THAT'S CLARA,,, being courted by Amelia's sorta husband oh my gatos.
So on and so forth, let some moons pass - Clara isn't as nice as she used to be. And would be why most of the puppets on the present day didn't like her or cared if she had been replaced. Because I can sadly see Clara despising Amelia. Not only because she was related to Jestyn, but she'd see Amelia as competition. And she'd desperately want Amelia to be dead.
I listened to a song from Six: the Musical called 'Lose your head' and a line that stuck to me that I feel and can see Clara telling Amelia at some point goes like,,
"Don't be bitter, Cause I'm fitter! Why hasn't it hit her? he doesn't want to bang you could somebody hang you?"
I'm so sorry Amelia you wouldn't deserve it so bad but please believe me,, ah,, okay while I'm sure Clara meant it on her part, but shes not her best self due to someone. And you can guess who, but I cannot spoil just yet </3
But I still hate to think about it because Clara would be so hateful, any friendship they both had then would become null. Death threats, little accidents and rumors come Amelia's way and it won't stop until Clara feels she's crushed her enough.
I get so sad thinking about it because if Crownus wasn't in the way I can truly see Clara being one of Amelia's greatest companion or advisors when the Queen can't trust anyone else. GAH doomed friendship </3 I'd say so much more but do know I hold their dynamic so very dearly to my heart, and so I leave you with this.

Im gonna abuse this chance to admit now that oh my god guys Ive been,, brainrotting. over the damsel. No not Caelen the femboy (Dont call him that you will get stabbed) but the original damsel but to refrain any more confusion we'll call her damselette and oh my god. Shes so cutieful in my head. The version of her before she was influenced by Crownus that is.
Shes so sunshine and rainbows and so cheeky and it makes me so sad to know what she becomes ToT While i'd never applaud or praise Caelen for what he did because all murder is bad, what Clara did that drove him to do it was understandable. NOT VALID but you can see why he did it.
I'm sure she was so bright and warm when the theatre was still open, I compare her to a little sunsprite that's as abrupt and sudden in her entrance. The kind of person that scoots her chair closet to your desk, rests her elbows on said desk, hands cupping her face as she blinks at you. And eventually asks whatcha doing.
I see her in the same sadness I see for Duchess. I'm sure the two could be friends, best friends? MMM debatable!! But most likely!! Clara's the extrovert and Duchess the introvert haha
