Should there ever be an indicator you near The Interloper's bad ending, then him managing to take control of more than one puppet is one sure fire sign.
I think Ironically to ensure you don't get a bad end is to make sure you don't.. control Eden, while also making sure he doesn't take control of the situation either. It's such a hard thing to explain! But there's such an important balance in making sure he has freedom but not enough so that he'll get ideas in taking matters into his own hands.
Of all my puppets, Eden is most tricky — and a big contributor to it is the trauma he's experienced and his very bleak reality even if you manage to take him from his prison.
Other townspuppets aren't eager to make merry and befriend him, All of them assume he is dead and remember him as a murderer. Former friends and relationships he has will be tense or gone, members from Prieston's church he was formerly close with now dead. And I can't even begin to mention the pain and it's effect on his psyche. He has nothing and noone. And that is terrifying.
You would be all he has, you are his guiding light. His only savior. His prayer answered.
And you suppose it's okay to give in sometimes. To let him hold you like this. To be the thing that soothes whatever ache he won't name. Even if it comes at the price of everyone's lives.

I always feel so constantly sad when it comes to Eden, just because he really didn't deserve what happened. There's a lot of unexplained lore to be said, but to put it simply — Crownus was naturally the catalyst to Eden's ruin, being the one to discover Eden's ability and essentially groom him to use it on other puppets.
As a member part of Prieston's church, Prieston was a close confidant, and to ask your Father for guidance, he will tell you to serve the king as you would the lord. And you do so. You follow the king. You obey and listen to his every word and lesson. Even as you wake up and find your hands bloodied, you follow. And when your king falls, you fall along with him. Accused of murder, slaughter, chained and bound and your eyes removed.
And finally, you're left there alone. For years and years alone in the dark, the quiet, the isolation.
LIKE UGHHH HE DIDN'T MEAN IT HE DIDN'T MEAN IT HE DIDNT WANTED IT HE SWEARS 😭😭nobody helped him when he needed it or showed him the right path and shit (WHICH IS FAIR considering most puppets were under Crownus' hand and would be afraid to speak up against it) BUT STILL
Even throughout him aiding in Crownus commands, eden never felt it was right. Like, would always have this off feeling that this was wrong. And I feel like even as he asks Prieston, he'd be told to think nothing of it. I'm considering a comic just so I can include a line like "I've been told to follow, and when I do, my heart is heavier. My guilt consumes me. And it feels as If I've done wrong. But I have to do it. Again, and again, because the king wills it so. Please, help me. What do I do?"
I feel like at one point as well he'd probably ask to talk to Prieston face to face, straight up ask to talk. Not as your acolyte, and you my priest. But as people. No roles. No titles. Please.
I think a fun thing to do as well when writing For eden always is alternating between his name and his title. If I feel like say,, just,, dehuminizing him and making him feel like a thing than a person, I call him "The Interloper" because thats what most puppets would know him as. Not Eden. Not The Acolyte. But The Interloper. The murderer. But if I feel more personal, I call him Eden <3

HELLO hehehee so, the interloper. i felt like adventuring into it and finding what was at the bottom was a pretty big/emotional reveal (at least for me when i was playing) regarding the fate of the nomai.
but also i felt so goofy just. sliding around in there. so as i try to get back into animation a little bit, i made this to try to capture the feeling of “wheeeee,” ya know?

I do love how Moth and the Interloper's willingness to take risk swap as the game goes on. Like at the start of the game the Interloper is all like "this is really intense im just a contractor", but keeps getting convinced by Moth's "but think of how famous we could become if we find something cool, you probably wont die 🥺". But I am like halfway through the game now and the Interloper has Repeatedly been like "hell yeah corrupted alien software I am totally good with you uploading a computer virus directly into My Brain", and Moth keeps going "WOAH HEY MAYBE DONT". To absolutely no avail.

I don't know what to say besides that I knew the Interloper is going to be bad news and I was fuming when I realised I was correct :(
Also, there were no complications when I landed on the Interloper... Surprisingly (ok, well, if we ignore that the second time I tried to get to the Interloper I got destroyed by the sun again)
At the start of my playthrough I've had all sorts of weird theories, like the apparently popular "The Interloper is causing the death of the sun" theory and even considered it being alien technology that was sent from a distant place to do... Whatever?
I remember a line from Yarrow I believe, when he said they're all excited to explore the Interloper and see what knowledge it brings because they haven't seen any interstellar objects enter the solar system in a very long time if ever. Little did he or the others know what's coming for them... 💔
Pye, Poke and Clary went together to explore the comet. I picture all three of them were super close, I mean Poke and Clary were sisters, but I imagine that they hung out as a trio very often in the past! Perhaps with Ramie, too :) girl group 🔥🔥 (one of my goals was to draw all four of them on a picture!!!!)
When Pye realised the core was under a lot of pressure and threating to erupt, golly I could see it: millions of thoughts racing through her mind, not sure what to do. She told Poke to leave, warn the others, however... Poke never made it out before everything went down- IT'S SOOOO FRUSTRATING AND SAD D:
Seeing Pye float in the core chamber with the messages she and Poke left behind was heartbreaking :/ as was seeing Poke laying around not far away from there. And Clary in the frozen shuttle, spending her last moments worrying if her sister and her friend are alright and whether she should go look for them...
They deserved a better ending fr and I'll always be the Interloper's no.1 hater for what it did to the Nomai 😡😡😡😡
