Slowly but surely I am moving blog location over to Blogger: http://amyibalien.blogspot.co.uk/ I'll probably be in and out of updating it as I go on through this year at Uni, pre-warning. :)

Aside from recently scoring tickets to go and see the beauty that is Eminem at Wembley Stadium, London on July 11th, I've also decided to start learning how to draw figures properly - starting with the Rap God himself. It's not the best and in fact this is going to remain a WIP until I get familiar with digitally painting in Photoshop (Paint Tool SAI fan, me). Watch this space.

New Project. We have 100% creative freedom with this project and I think me and my partner, Laura, are enjoying it way too much! From cakes to Zombies and then Mary Berry, we have came up with a book about infected cakes that cause the Zombie Apocalypse and Mary Berry is the evil genius/ Zombie Overlord behind it. Subject to change. Sorry guys.

We had to create two posters in different file formats using 1 colour and all the shades of black. We were limited to one font for one of the designs and two fonts for the other. I've used Beatnik SF in the top poster and Beatnik SF and Franklin Gothic in the bottom. Edits are still taking place, but here's my finals for now!

Look at cows and keep calm, you will.

So another Partner Project is a go, but this time I have the pleasure of working with Deanna. For this project we got to select 6 logos to design from a series of made up products (or what we're made to believe!) We chose to design our logos on the following products: - A Meat Based IceCream - An Abusive Sat Nav - Wigs For Babies - A Dating Site For Goldfish - A Pram/TV Combo - A Bag for Chihuahua's So here's the 3 logos I designed out of the six (Deanna's logos soon to follow): However, after arriving home I grew a huge dislike towards the 'Baby Curls' logo and as a result I ended up redesigning it. It has yet to get the Leeds Lass approval, but here's what it currently looks like: That's all your eyes can see for now, I'm afraid! However if you stay tuned, you will be updated with all 6 logos, finished and printed.

As you may or may not remember I recently posted up a few Typographic thumbnails. Well this is the outcome to those! I decided to scrap all of the designs I had for 'Century' and just start again from scratch. As for 'Kabel', I really should've played around with this a little bit more, but I was so focused on redoing 'Century' that I neglected it until the very end...

The last time I studied typography was 2 years ago back in Stafford college, so I'm really kinda just stabbing in the dark with this one, but thankfully I have received 2 new Graphic Design books to help me on my way! Stay tuned for the final pieces.
