hey pal! hmm, so i think trevor's blend of at once being extremely calculated and aware of how he is percieved and thought of by others, mixed with his tendency to wear every single emotion, both good and bad, out in the open, is extremely interesting to me. and i'm sure it causes him problems! i think he's also trapped in this catch 22 (and is extremely aware of this) where he's trying to both escape the reputation of being a trick merchant flashy hockey player and be Part Of The Team, but would also hate if he were not recognised or able to show off his skill and be seen as The Skills Guy on his team, just a little bit. I think he's always going to be fighting to find that balance, and that's interesting to me! he loves attention while also knowing it comes with assholes who want to knock him down a few pegs. his blantent need for approval coupled with his need/attempt to also seem blase about stuff.... idk it's all about the contradictions.

i also think jamie is a big part of why i find trevor interesting! if trevor didn't have a real, obvious, genuine affection for jamie, i might group him a little closer to jack hughes (who is the topic of another ask entirely) ie cocky and cliquey, usa hockey is do or die etc, all about Being Good At Hockey, but trevor really genuinely seems fascinated by jamie. it's part of a bigger thing ofc where trevor seems to go very hard and is very loyal to his friends, but jamie, who really seems at times like Just Some Guy, has won his undying affection For Some Reason. it brings out another element in trevor - austenesque ideas about a good relationship being one in which you make each other better etc - i think jamie grounds trevor and this is even something he has said himself! it's interesting they really do seem to flourish when they're together and not apart! like ok! sure! trevor is not as extroverted as some people and even himself might like to believe. he never seems to do entirely what you expect him to (see single pina colada with jamie instead of partying.)
