Last night me and another person COOKED SO HARD on a Book 2 overhaul that I could not believe we did that and then blacked out.

Like, we turned it into a whole detective-interdorm tension shebongle, that made infinitely more sense than the trash fire that was the canon version of Book 2.

I still can’t wrap my head around how we did that past our bedtime. (Yes bedtime, I’m “old” and like having a set time to sleep and wake up at a reasonable hour in the morning while getting adequate sleep.)

Not to be sappy, but I love how Rett loves his crew. Customizing their ships down to making sure Ko’s controls resemble a motorcycle’s, giving Pix a makeup station, Ziggy’s feeling like a flight sim game. The way he takes “silly” gifts like the digi-diary and genuinely uses them, because he values what everyone gives to him. Remembering to get Ziggy’s favorite soda from the Rhapsody because the casino didn’t have the one he liked. Gift giving is DEFINITELY his love language, and I just love how far he goes to make sure they all feel seen and loved.

Especially given his backstory as a corpo soldier, and how little individuality him and his co-workers probably had. I imagine small things like the doodles on someone’s helmet meant the world to people like them. So now that he’s free, has his own money, he just wants everyone to be able to have as much individuality as they can. And even if he doesn’t always know the right words (which is not often, cause damn if Rett ain’t a good space therapist when he needs to be), he cares so much and I adore him that is my FATHER that’s my DAD and he means everything to me.
