Anyway, Minh is an earthbender avatar from generations before the events of atla. She lost her eye as a child, due to a raid that was made to her village. Minh’s parents died during the raid, and her future earthbender teacher takes her under his wing to recover and train.

Yuka is a water tribe girl whose family immigrates to the village where Minh and her mentir live. Her parents open an small pharmacy, and Yuka heals their patients with her waterbending. She and Minh become friends quite easily, because their personalities compliment each ither quite well.

Hyeon is the son of an fire nation politician. Well off, good education, nerd about biology and other sciences. He and Minh run into each other by chance, and Hyeon is immidietly quite taken by Minh. Minh doesnt really understand why Hyeon wants to spend time with her instead of returning to his life at the city, but she also enjoys listening him yap away about his interests. They become closer friends once Minh starts to train firebending, and studies under Hyeon’s teacher together with him.

Enkh and Minh meet much later compared to the previous two. Enkh is an orphaned streetrat, and I imagine their first time meeting Minh be when she tries to steal from her. At first Minh is annoyed at her, but she quicky learns of Enkh’s situation, and they bond over lost parents. Minh basically adopts Enkh as her little sister, and once she realizes that Enkh is an airbeder, Minh decides to take her with her to one of the air temples to learn airbending with her, and also learn about her own culture.
