“Bring a bludger. Hit him in the face.” She laughed, swaying lightly. “It’s not shit, it’s ink.” Izzy couldn’t help herself, but went on quickly. “And that’s totally the best deal I’ve ever made.”

“I don’t know about you but ink is gross and I don’t want to be covered in it,” Amy replied. “I know this spot in the bleachers where we totally won’t be seen. Ryder won’t expect it at all. It’ll be fun, we’ll seem like spies and shit.”

“Hey, so if I gave you ten bucks would you hit a bludger at Ryder? Like, in practice - I don’t want you to lose a game or anything, but I’m trying to prove a point.”

“Well, the thing is, we’re done with quidditch, so that would be kind of hard,” Amy replied. “But I can sneak into a Horned Serpent Quodpot practice and sabotage it for him for ten bucks. You can come with me. See him all covered in that shit that it covers you in.”

“I’d be lying if I said yes, but it’d be damn funny to watch you walk around with whatever that is all day. You just kinda smeared it, by the way.”

“Wouldn’t you be a great friend,” Amy replied. She rubbed at her chin this time with a napkin. “Did I get it all now?”

“You might want to find something more… I don’t know… useful.”

Amy shrugged. “Pretty is useful.”

“Ah. What else is in there?”

“Oh just that we have each other’s backs. Always.”

“I would rather spend the night with you and all my friends than some boy, be honored.” Kendall rolled her eyes. “I think so. I get that vibe from her. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking.”

“I get that vibe from most people, I have a horrible gaydar. It literally always leads me to crushing on straight girls,” Amy replied. 

“Oh, really? I don’t remember that in the cousin’s handbook.”

“It’s in the years of payback for babysitting handbook,” Amy replied.

“Hey, Amy, you’ve got somethin’ on your face. Right here,” Harry gestured to a spot on his own chin. “I wasn’t gonna tell you, but it’s pretty distracting. And gross.”

“Oh,” Amy replied, wiping his chin slightly where he was pointing. She looked back at him. “Did I get it?”

“Wait- Amy, turn around? I- oh, nope, never mind.”

“I? What? What’s up?” Amy questioned, looking on her back. “Is there something on me?”

“Do I look like a match maker?” Penn teased. 

“Well, you’re my little cousin, so technically it’s your duty to matchmake me.”

Kendall grinned. “I mean, I could have had a date. I just would’ve rather gone with my totally babeing roomie.”  Kendall elbowed Amy. “Hmmm. What about her?” She pointed to Savannah. “Get your ginger on.”

“Wow, glad to know I’m your back up plan,” she replied with a small smile, elbowing her back. Amy raised her eyebrows. “Savannah? I’m not sure, is she even gay a little?”

“A present? For me? Wow, thank you.” Kendall grinned and tore open the paper. “I love it, it’s so great.”

Amy rolled her eyes. “Please, don’t act like you are surprised you got a gift.”

“Well congrats on that. I mean being prettier than a rock, well done, seriously.”

“It’s my life’s work,” she replied sarcastically.

Penn sighed. “Why is she always the hardest to buy for?”

“Because she never gives us a clues on what she wants.”

“Please, like I’d ever  tell on you.” Penn gave his cousin a playful shove. “Not that I have any intention of letting her finding out I’m drinking alcohol while under age.”

“Good that we’re agreed,” she replied, taking a glass of punch and drinking it. “Now do me a favor. If you find a gay single girl, send her my way, yeah?”

“Because it’s something new.” Ken shrugged. “I’ve been alive for another year and I want to do new things.”

“Well, then with wanting new things, comes new things,” Amy pulled her gift for Kendall out from under her bed. “Open it.”
