Environment: The Cul-de-sac - "The perfect neighborhood, fit for perfect families. The place that all children play, mothers gossip and little daughters learn to lie. Home is where secrets are born."
Environment Description:
- A humble neighborhood whete every house is identical. The lawns are clean; uniform. It all looks the same with the fake flowers and sparse decorations. Mannequins line the street of children playing games and mothers supervising.
- THE FAMILY HOME: A home, or what used to be one, in various states of disrepair. The front door is closed, but not locked allowing Reagents access. The home is divided into two floors, separated by a gate until the first set of objectives is complete.
FIRST FLOOR:
- The Foyer: The area of the front door. Its a small hallway, with openings on either side leading to two other areas of the house. There is a wardrobe that reagents can hide in but it is otherwise unremarkable.
-The Dining Room: To the left of the Foyer. A table is set up with four seats. Each setting is missing a piece save for the place at the end of the table. Each is labeled with a member of a family; Mother, Father, Sister, Brother. Notably, it seems that each spot has an item to represent each family member as well. A cigarette for the father, a bully shell for the brother, and a drill bit for the mother.
-The Kitchen: A standard kitchen in the home of a standard family. It is connected to the Dining Room and Living Room, and located opposite of the Foyer. The sink is stacked full of dishes, the trash can is overflowing, and the counters are stained with blood. There is a knife missing from the display on the wall above the stove.
-The Living Room: The couch has stains of mostly unknown origin, the coffee table sits unevenly, tilting to its side. A TV sits centered on a shelf, surrounded by scattered magazines. It only plays static.
SECOND FLOOR
-Bedroom 1: This room looks like it was painted red at some point, but its hard to tell. It is clearly decorated to belong to a boy. Pin Up posters cling stubbornly to the walls. The window is boarded.
-Bedroom 2: A room clearly meant for a daughter. Tattered stuffed toys sit on an unmade bed, ruined makeup decorates a ruined vanity. Posters of actresses and actors scribbled with lipstick are stuck painstakingly to the walls. The window is nailed shut when Reagents attempt to open it.
-Master Bedroom; The room belonging to the parents. Two beds sit side by side, seperated by an end table. The window is opened properly and in a chair sits the Trial Victim; The Sneak. He is dressed similar to teen boys in the 1940's, decidedly out of date at current.
Therapy: Prepare the Home
Trial Description: "The man of the house has a right to see order in his domain; Dinner in the table, well behaved children, and a home made proper. But when Daddy is away, children do play. Uncover the truth, restore order, and we will let you out."
Trial Objectives:
-Set the table: Upon entering the home, Reagent will be greeted by a mannequin on a rail, asking them to set the table before 'Father' gets home. They will directed to the kitchen where three of the four table setting are missing a piece; A plate, a cup, and a fork. Each item can be found in one of the other downstairs areas.
-Organise the Magazines: The Mannequin will then ask reagents to declutter the living room. Father does like a mess! Reagent night vision will reveal what order the magazines fit into the shelves around the television set.
-Make the Beds: The Mannequin will direct reagents to the stairs, where she will ask that they make sure all the beds are made. She does not follow you upstairs. Upon entering the Master Bedroom, reagents will find The Sneak. He is a picture of deliquency; clad in a leather jacket, a collared shirt, jeans and tattered shoes. There are lipsticks stains on the burlap obscuring his face and the collar of his shirt.
-Escort the sneak; Reagents are tasked with getting him out of the house unnoticed. There is a rail path through the upstairs of the house that leads back down to the first floor towards the door in the kitchen. Before the reagents make it out of the door, a male mannequin stops them, dropping from the doorframe as it opens, prompty stabbing the Sneak and killing him, all the while shouting indecipherable obscenities.
-Leave the home
-Wait for the shuttle
-Exit the trial.
Victim: The 'Sneak' is mocked up in the Master bedroom to look like he snuck into the house, hence the name. The trial is meant to represent the stereotype that teenage boys only want one thing.
I think something reallt interesting about the PA's is that their environments represent something they want. The whole reason that theyre even here in the first place is because Easterman promised them their dreams. For Coyle it was power in justice, for Gooseberry its to being joy to children. I lose the thread a little bit with the twins and Lilliya though. Although Im a bit less knowledgeable on them so it makes sense - For the twins it seems their desire is to have what they used to have. Puppeteering from the shadows, and still having a big influence. At least thats whar I understand from Silence the Idol. Now Liliya I have no idea. I havent read too much on her yet so maybe ill come back to this when i do
