She nods when he pulls away, the feeling of his lips still lingering on her cheek as she leans back into the passenger side of the cruiser (assuming that they're maybe still there from the joyride ask, and also for convenience lmao). She seems a bit more relaxed, his smile and kiss having seemingly pushed her into a false sense of security.

"I should probably let you get back to the station... Your break is just about over, right?" She asks as she lightly folds her hands in her lap.

"What do you want for dinner tonight?"

Coyle observes her demeanor for a moment, cataloguing every tiny reaction.

“Yeah, I best be headin' out. Don't need that deputy riding my tail for bein' late again. He's real prickly.” Coyle hums, then smiles at her. The mention of food gets his attention real quick. It's been a while since he came back home to a loving woman and a table served.

“Don't you fret none 'bout supper, sweetness. I might be runnin' late tonight, so don't go fixin' nothin' hot unless yer aim to warm it up for me when I get back. Some sandwiches would be mighty fine—just some ham and lettuce, maybe a slice o' tomato.” Coyle says with kindness that shouldn't belong to a man like him. Didn't belong to a man like him.
